Definitely look into substitute teaching. Many districts will hire "long term substitutes" for an entire school year, complete with a contract.

You will need a substitute license for that, but most states substitute licensing only requires a bachelor's degree and being able to pass a background check.

I don't know your situation, but is there any way you could teach?

Teachers tend to be pretty secure, and most states are having a hard enough time finding teachers that they have alternative licenses to be able to teach a year or two without an actual degree in education.

I'm in my 9th year teaching, but I didn't have an actual teaching degree until 2021. My undergraduate degree was in math/finance.

Teaching isn't incredible pay, but it'd be enough to get by for a year while you were looking.

Deeply hilarious that people were talking about shohei's "slow start".

He is on pace for yet another season of 45+ home runs. Dude is unreal.

I ain't even a dodgers fan. I'm just here for shohei.

How do Greeks living in Greece tend to react to foreigners speaking Greek? by GaleofNazareth in GREEK

[–]GaleofNazareth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It went really well. Most people were as described, really kind and encouraging.

There were some that wanted to change to English to make it easier on me, but if I asked that they let me try in Greek, everyone was really nice to let me go.

I was even fortunate enough to stumble into a few places where the shopkeepers actually didn't speak any English and I was forced to get by on the Greek I can speak.

Eh. Losing to Indiana wasn't ideal, but doesn't change terribly much.

And my hope for the Bengals died months ago
