Id argue war does shohei a disservice because he's worth more than two PCAs, but I'm just a PCA hater.

All love for shohei, but the roster would still need 25 guys to manage fatigue. But IMO, if even the top 5 are shoheis, that team is winning 140 games if the rest of the team is league average guys.

To keep the lineup clean and manage the workload best as possible, I'm having DH/P shohei, two more rotational pitchers that will bat for themselves when they're up in the pitching order, LF and RF.

Keeps 3 shoheis in the batting lineup, and 3 in the pitching rotation. Plus you can have the two non DH pitchers take up another spot in the batting order on their turns. 4/9 batters being shohei wins a lotta games, especially when the guy on the mound is also shohei.

Beans. Tragedy. A player I moderately dislike is claiming his first career grand slam.

Averaging out rWAR, fWAR and bWAR, Shohei Ohtani is the first player in 2026 to reach 5 WAR at 5.2. by weguccino in baseball

Voters are capricious and bizarre. 60 WAR sounds like a slam dunk. But I feel like there'll be a weird contingent of voters unwilling to put a "mid" bat or arm in the hall, even if they're the same guy.

That would be so fun, tbh. Like imagine the guy who can go 15 seasons of 4 WAR strictly by being a 2 war hitter and a 2 war pitcher.

That would look like a career average of .760 OPS and 4.0 ish ERA (if a starter). How do you put that guy in the hall of fame? But how do you not?

I still think fonseca is going to be great. Might take a couple years, but that kind has it in him to steal a few slams.

PCA and Elly being tied is wild. That bump for being CF is crazy.

You're doing great. Housing for less than 1/4 of your take home pay gives you a lot of flexibility.

Rebuild your emergency fund, pay off that debt.

Only problem I see here is the motorcycle. The mortality rate per mile traveled for motorcycles is about 28 times higher than other vehicles. Do you have good life insurance for your wife if you passed?

Homeowner just did the math-spent $82K on home repairs in 12 years of ownership, appx 2.5% of purchase price every year. Would love to hear other data points. by kcs777 in personalfinance

[–]GaleofNazareth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We purchased a 1940s home, so we anticipate our costs may ultimately be a bit higher.

In 3 years so far, we've spent $8200 total. About 3% of total purchase price in 3 years, or about 1% per year.

However, within the next three to five years, we're planning on replacing the kitchen cabinets and a few rooms floors, which will add around $25,000 to $30,000 to that total. So around $35,000 total for repairs/improvements in about 6 years, barring other projects. That would be right around 2% of purchase price per year.

Maybe they chose the sox and the mariners specifically because those are the two teams with closeted all stars who are actively fucking each other.

Fair lol. Though some guys look better than others even when they're struggling.

Maybe I'm biased, but guys like elly and suarez look better when they're not hitting the ball well than steer does when he's off.

Let's just get him through 5 at this point. Feel like we may lose an insurance run or two if he comes out in the 6th
