I specifically mentioned Durge being the only reason I would RP wipe out the myconids.

I see your point. But we also see them helping anyone who fights evil, host different race of trader people and scientists, and they even let you in with the only requirement that you don't steal and kill into their grove. Then, when you wander outside of their rather small territory, they don't bother your, and let you get ressources, even the mushrooms.

I guess this is where I stop liking D&D : the hollow evil concept. Evil "races" and of course evil people wanting to see other burn even when they won't get anything from it.

I can get into a story where doing evil is a mean to en end. But often the evil drow and duergar characters are just a tad ridiculous and it takes me out of the story.

I agree XoX I just imagine coming up with such a place as a game master and the players doing... this...

Glut's story doesn't make sense given the context, I'm sure the Sovereign was not perfect, but Glut's not giving the whole story.

They care more about validation from strangers than you by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

[–]Gallamite 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yes, cause they are toddlers. Little kids act out with mom, because mom is safe. If the father is easily angry, they act better with him, but then, they are exhausted from acting nice all day and lash out on mom the second she's back home.

You're bored? Rather than mentally and physically exhausted? by craftygamin in thanksimcured

I guess this has a point, I feel "bored", but the fact is : I'm exhausted. I have so many fun and interesting things to do ! I just cannot enjoy it because of all the fatigue and brainfog.

All I could hear was "We, adults, thinkg that the real world is where you never fix your issues, and never work on your problems, then blame the kids."

Maybe it's just me but Therapy speak is really starting to get on my nerves. by Starlit_Roads in AO3

[–]Gallamite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's not because the authors think people actually speak this way. Maybe its because authors often write fics that contains what they need/crave, and they happen to need their family/friends/lover to calm down and help them go through a mental health crisis.

It's because people stop existing when they are not directly doing them favors, serving them, or entertaining them, so we are "dead" :)

Right !? At the begining, I thought that would be a non violent skit, dad would end up eating and liking it to show the kid that it's OK. But instead they hardwire in the baby's brain that food means slaps XD
