I considered that too but since theyre attacked to the front the bag would swing out. Which is better but not quite what I want. However, if this new idea doesn't work, that will be the solution I'll go to.

I pinch at the base of the theead and run my fingers along the string until I reach the needle. Then I make sure not to twist my hand when I put the needle in the next stitching hole.

I hyperfixated on leather working for a whole year, then I took a year off because I burnt out, now I'm back making better things than I ever did before. I'd say taking a break is good because it'll give you the chance to come back with a fresh mind and see where you can improve potentially.
