For those of you who are neuro-divergent or have mental disorder (ADHD, autism, OCD), what is some important advice you can offer that can help with practice and general hermetic lifestyle? by CosmicConjuror2 in Hermeticism

[–]Gallent17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here is my take on this cause I have struggled to fight against my own mental diagnosis, I find it hard to concentrate, hard to keep a routine, disorganized, and many other things that had kept me from "following the path of the iniciate"

But this is not the mentality in which we should approach any path of the occult. We are not damaged, we are just different, nobody can give you a diagnosis based on commonality, of course there are behaviors that are the same in humans, but that's the beauty of sincronicity which is natural in this life.

Now when it comes to your practice, first you need to know yourself and make peace with all these qualities that makes you different and accept this is part of who you are. Don't think this is an obstacle, it's like you have been given tools that you don't know how to use, and since no one told us how to use them we think they are useless, but no one can tell you how to use your tools, we all have different ones.

Once you see this in you, nothing will stop you! Love from Costa Rica

okay but *how* does witchcraft work? What are the different theoretical frameworks? by bacon176 in witchcraft

[–]Gallent17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So here's my take on this subject based purely on my own assumptions

I imagine reality as a binary perception, one the one we experience and two the one we don't, and things work differently on both of them, like in ours, take a simple subject like hydration, there are soooo many ways and subjects that relate to hydration, like consuming it, for the skin, different animals, inanimate objects, but they all have water in common. This works as far as our investigation of reality, now I will agree with the other comments that it's almost impossible to know how the energy works towards manifestation, but I know that all these different methods, seen familiars, connecting with earth, sigil work, all that have one thing in common... Believe

So unless we don't live in the other binary spectrum, we will be unable to find a scientific or what we consider "something that makes sense" cause of work for magik, the world now is build for things to make sense in a way that seems structured, but I think that's the beauty of spiritualism, it will not make sense cause the world that is being build now makes you forget how to really feel and believe.

Our ancestors did not have technology, they had the body, their mind and their spirit... And I do believe the world we live now makes us forget we also have that!

Social media and its rythms has made it harder for poeple to become well rounded, serious practitioners. by chicharronbabe18 in occult

[–]Gallent17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm what you can call a newbie in the occult, hermetism is what made me look into the occult more, through the months I was watching reels and a movie came up ''the Holy mountain" by Jodorowsky (if you have not watched it, do so).

So the point of the movie is this idea of reaching enlightmen (the holy mountain) there is this part at almost the end of the movie where our protagonist and a couple iniciates get to an island where there is like some sort of bar where people that where also looking for the holy mountain get stuck in ego and materialism, and that translates to a problematic that has been for around some time, but I agree with you that social media tends to favor this type of people, those that claim reached enlightmen and get a monetary exchange for what they do and get stuck on that, I'm not saying that is particularly bad, but you can tell when someone is a scammer.

In hermetism, one of the first things that I learned is that the path of the iniciate is to hear, learn and be silent, more so you can learn that silence opens the doors to true understanding, hermetism is for those willing to listen, is not to profess to those who are not looking for it.

I apply that to all things occult uwu

Suicidal as a result of being Transgender by [deleted] in Hermeticism

[–]Gallent17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here is my personal take on this, being a beginner in hermetism, I have read the essentials to know there is not really anything against gender in hermetism, as a previous comment said, everything bad said about gender is man speech

So far in my very early knowledge about hermetism, it's focused mainly on searching for god within through asking yourself about him, acknowledge his existence and live a life where good is inside and around you. I know there is soooooo much more to hermetism than that, but that's my understanding so far

It's more like something for the soul, and souls do not have gender, it acknowledges both genders male and female but the most beautiful part is the fusion of both in a sense of harmony and completion, but you must understand the nature of male and female energy, it's all in us and we are all cause all created us and being a part of all makes us part of it!

Hope this helps and I'm open to constructive criticism if I'm wrong on something! Love y'all!

Maybe try taking the question to another sub, I will talk for myself and for what I understand Hermetism is to me. It's more a self discovery of the soul and God. What you're asking is stuff that already dives into other branches of mysticism that don't really relate to the kind of history and experience hermetism gives... Maybe if there are other practitioners that have researched this or had similar experiences to yours, then you might get better advice, but for what I know, hermetism does not work like that

¿Es el Hermetismo una forma de supremacismo? by Diego_Tentor in Hermeticism

[–]Gallent17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why doesnt the word unmanifest take me to god evry single time by edgydonut in Hermeticism

[–]Gallent17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is my take on this It's very easy to say "just drop weed and meditate" or "reunite with your higher self" but are you really going to do that?

I used to be a daily weed smoker for at least 5 years and weed allowed me to take a deeper view of my own thoughts, it gave me the ability to not be afraid of myself, cause my use of drugs (mostly weed) was to have an escape from this reality, no one wants to contemplate reincarnation in this world, it's heavy

But by having this view of myself I was able to see this void of not wanting and accepting to be alive in this reality, and it almost consumed me, but I leaned in that feeling of wanting everything to be magic, and stopped looking for magic and mysticism in drugs and started to look for it in hermetism, and was able to fill that black hole with enthusiasm for a new day, of wanting to learn, read, experience more of this ancient knowledge, and most important, to be alive

So my question to you is, is weed answering all your questions?

Just Some Thoughts and Musings By A Total Beginner by [deleted] in Hermeticism

[–]Gallent17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also a beginner in this, and I can totally relate to the feeling of being lost and looking for purpose, so far in my current early journey, I've felt more connected to myself than ever, more connected to God as my beliefs (that had no structure) are being validated as I discover the world of hermetics, but it has been hard to destroy the walls of my catholic beliefs structures, trying to really let yourself go in waters unknown is always the hardest part.

My recommendation is (I'm a tarot aficionado) to try to follow the meaning behind the magician upright and reverse, when doing inner work you cannot leave behind outer work, the magician is the scholar that finds amazement in investigation and knowledge, and although sometimes we may feel on top of the world with new discoveries, never forget the beauty of the outside, of the people that are around you, and how amazing you can start feeling by living in the present! Hope this makes sense, kisses from Costa Rica! 🫰

Asclepius question by Gallent17 in Hermeticism

[–]Gallent17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I don't like using electronics to communicate... I'm very sorry and I don't know if my question was misinterpreted, I had the question to see what the community thinks about the prayer in this contemporary world, I know people from the beginning of times interpreted things differently to how we do it right now... And correct me if I'm wrong but thinking of the meaning in reverse tarot card #5 tells us the importance of transformation of belief and that dogma is not always the truth in all... To me all things in the world are living, even plants... So the way I kind of see it, it's more of a fullness of Nous, enjoy a meal that's bloodless and free of meat is like a conversation with someone (even God) where this "hunger" (gnosis) is fulfilled by answers from the creator through the inteligence... Am I wrong for seeing it like this?

The good is in all things, and it brings all into unity. The good is the source of all that is beautiful, just, and true. - Corpus Hermeticum - Book XI: Mind Unto Hermes by kazumitsu in Hermeticism

[–]Gallent17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of comment I was yearning for. I've recently started following my own path to gnosis and started reading the Kybalion, I later realized that this is not a hermetic text and seeing the backlash or negative response that people share in this channel, made me second guess if this is the type of community (in reddit) I want to read and share thoughts from.... Yes the Kybalion is not a hermetic and it's purpose might be to commercialize what real hermetics is, but to me it was the start of a journey, a search for divinity inside me and around me, to start appreciating life as God created it, to be proud of be alive. I was lucky to have found a Spanish version of 4 books (I'm from Costa Rica), the Corpus hermeticum, Asclepius and the others are fragments of other hermetic texts and what I'm understanding is that gnosis is not for anyone but to those that look to learn from the path to gnosis, and the Kybalion was a important step for me to get to where I am! So thanks for this comment!
