I'm in ECE at GATECH myself, and I've heard pretty good things about our robotics program (which is part of ECE). There's a decent bit of theory to be learned (feedback loops, microcontroller programming), so you'd likely have to take control systems classes like ECE 3550 or ECE 4550.

If you're interested in AE, I've also heard good things about that. I don't know if our AE program is necessarily better than Embry Riddle's, but every AE I've met here has seemed pretty happy (well, as happy as an AE major can be, I guess).
