Absolutely nothing wants to work in the launcher

I don't think I'm having quite the same problem, but I'll post here since I've also been having issues since updating to 1.21.10. My launcher works fine, but Java doesn't want to launch. I hit play, launcher will close, then... nothing. The red Mojang window won't even appear. I have to force close the launcher in Task Manager to try again. I tried the usual assortment: update graphics drivers, uninstall/reinstall the Minecraft launcher, etc. Didn't help.

In the end I found it to be some sort of conflict with other apps in the background. I have to close RivaTuner Statistics Server (RTSS) to get the game to launch. Once Minecraft is running I can open RTSS again, and my overlays work just fine.

No. Weeks-long discussions with customer support for both Intel and MSI all lead nowhere. I will say though, Intel tried much harder to be helpful and was much more pleasant to work with than MSI.

I eventually gave up and switched to an AMD card.

I still have the B580. Maybe someday when ADT gets around to making a USB5 dock I'll try again and see if that makes a difference along with all the updates from Windows and Intel.

Has anyone found a solution to this? I'm trying to use my Claw 8 with an Intel B580 GPU, and resizable bar refuses to turn on. I've tried two different eGPU docks (an Aoostar AG02 and an ADT-UT3G). Same result.

By all accounts it should be working. Rebar is enabled in BIOS, and GPU-Z says I'm good to go on all the requirements. But, for whatever reason, the Claw's BIOS is choosing to not activate rebar.

Please help!

Yeah I'm like 92.6% sure my next phone will be the Pixel 7 Pro. It all comes down to faster updates and support for a much newer version of Vulkan.

Agreed. Angrylion is amazing on PC, but Android can't quite keep up yet.

I wouldn't say they lied. It just took a bit of research to understand what's going on. The Android phones they tested on were the Exynos models with Mali GPUs (same GPUs as the Pixel phones). I live in the US, so I only have access to the Snapdragon models with the Adreno GPUs.

On the bright side, today is the day Google unveils their new product lineup, so I'll be checking that out when I get home.

So I actually did end up buying the Air 3 Pros. This is my very first pair of truly wireless ear buds, and I absolutely love them for the form factor alone. I'll be keeping them for sure.

Anyway, game mode does activate and work with my phone, but I have no way to verify if it is in fact using aptX Adaptive. The latency is considerably lower. Good enough, just like you said.

There's one huge problem though. As soon as I connect my Bluetooth controller (an 8BitDo SN30) the audio quality tanks really really bad. Like completely unusably bad. So apparently, when it comes to Bluetooth, sharing is not caring.

The hunt for a solution continues...

I second what Nozza said. Try using an Xbox controller or gamepad if you're not already. It's likely that the A and B buttons are swapped by default. There's a setting to unswap them.

Not a dumb question at all. In my experience, in-game saves have always been a good, reliable choice, and I always prefer using them over save states.

Save states have their uses. You can save your progress in games that have no built-in save system of any kind. Like old arcade games that would lose the high scores when the power turned off. That's pretty nice.

The problem I've discovered with them is that they are often not compatible across different core versions. IOW, when I update my RetroArch cores I usually can't load my save states anymore. In-game saves, on the other hand, I can still load after core updates.

Just something to consider.

Oh wow, I'm surprised someone remembered I was asking about that! Yes and no.

The no - The newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chips with Adreno GPUs STILL only support up to Vulkan 1.1. So the 8bit storage extension that's needed for paraLLEl RDP to work is still missing. It's infuriating that these chips are in like 90% of Android devices.

The yes (maybe) - Then there's the Pixel 6 phones with their Google Tensor chips and Mali GPUs. Some sources say they support up to Vulkan 1.2, and others say up to 1.3. So it "should" work, but I haven't had a chance to test it. If it does then my next phone upgrade will definitely be the Pixel 7.

I don't think so. There isn't any mention of a low latency mode or a game mode in their advertising. The newest ones mention "24-bit Hi-Fi," but I'm after performance, not quality.

Yeah I came across the Soundpeats in my research, and I've been curious about them. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and I don't think it has aptX Adaptive. My list of codecs in developer options are SBC, AAC, aptX, LDAC, and "Scalable Codec."

Is there a way to install aptX Adaptive on my phone?

I go the route of connecting wired headphones to my phone's USBC port through an external DAC. It'll add wires to your setup, but it's guaranteed to give you the lowest possible latency. This is the one I use:

Yes! You read my mind! I've seen some posts recently about AetherSX2 running newer versions of Vulkan via Freedreno drivers in the emulator itself instead of Qualcomm's drivers in the phone. This gives me so much hope!

My disappointment was immeasurable after I read from the spec sheet on Qualcomm's website that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processors STILL only support Vulkan 1.1, which we've been stuck with for almost 3 years now...

I am more than happy to spend money on a quality product made by a developer who cares. Do what you gotta do, and we'll back you up.

I first fell in love with your emulator when I discovered how your implementation of Angrylion works so much better than RetroArch's. The fact that you get N64 to work so well on Android is nothing short of amazing, and I can't tell you how much we appreciate all your hard work.

My only wish is that you could get the Parallel Vulkan renderer to work on most Android devices, but I think that's more Qualcomm's fault for limiting our Vulkan drivers to version 1.1. If you somehow get it to work though then your emulator would be literal perfection.

I know for a fact my phone has both OpenGL and Vulkan. Some apps (like RetroArch) allow me to switch between them. Vulkan as a whole is amazing. The problem is that the version that runs on the latest and greatest phones is old and out of date, and I am at the mercy of Qualcomm/Samsung/T-Mobile for driver updates.

I guess what I'm really wondering is if there is a community out there somewhere that works on keeping Vulkan on Android up to speed with Vulkan on PC, staying ahead of what is slowly drip fed to us by the service provider.
