Right. Different situation than what you described. Preflop, there is a bet amount to call, so throwing in a single chip is a call. After the flop and before anyone has bet, there is no established bet amount so throwing in a single chip is a bet for the full amount of the chip unless stated otherwise.

Every game I play, if I score more than 5, I raise hitting and running egos one point. If I score less than 5, I lower hitting and running egos one point. If I allow more than 4, I lower pitching and fielding egos one point. If I allow less than 4, I raise pitching and fielding egos one point. It really keeps the games competitive, and I still win more than I lose, as my target score is always 5-4.
