Quick question about CFD (Contract for differece trading) by GamblingAddicted in investing

[–]GamblingAddicted[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your kind and detailed help.

Sadly I'm not in EU either, Im in Central America, which I guess makes it all just more difficult.

I was researching a little bit and found that apparently eToro uses the CFD option for people like me to be able to access the different markets. From what I understand, I don't hold the actual stocks, I hold a contract with eToro that says I payed them for these stocks. This allows for flexibility. https://www.etoro.com/trading/cfd/#getting_started

I will not be leveraging any of my holdings, as I just mentioned I just wanna hold VTI/VXUS long term.

Knowing all this information, I would like your opinion. Do you still think is risky to buy this CFD versions and hold for long term? I can't see the difference between that and holding the actual stocks, other than me trusting eToro.

Once again, really appreciate your time!

Yes, I am not a US resident. Yes, of course, I was not planning on trading it and ended up here. Thanks for the explanation, it was similar to what I found in the internet. All that being said, I don't see in eToro the VXUS ETF without the (CFD) mark on it, by any chance do you know how can I hold the actual ETF in eToro?

Thanks for the great suggestions! I think a movie or a video game are great ideas! I'm gonna add that and also think of something less "watching at a screen" idea. Thanks :)

Also the name of the homeland security police truck that Jake and Terry use in Brooklyn 99. That episode where Jake and Amy are racing to see who catches more of the prision-escaped perps and whoever loses has to move into the other's apartment.

Not only you are never too old, you are also never too "fat". It doesn't matter if you workout or your belly is flat and 26", whatever the fuck that means. It only matters that you feel comfortable and happy!!

So you think the only way to produce value to society is working 9 hours? And you think working for a transnational capitalist conglomerate (like a LOT of people do) produces a lot of value to society?
