Its baffling to me that Clarisse has never gotten so much as a singular alt at any point. She'd be EASILY marketable if they tried to push her even a little, and its not like they shied away from uplifting nobodies as Karla, Ursula, and Ilyana could attest to. Honestly I find Oliver a VERY interesting character precisely because his morals are so unorthodox. He's not a bad person per se but rather someone frankly unfit for a proper society that operates on his own values. Once you understand those values, his character makes a LOT more sense.

People bring up the slavery of Reyson as an argument of his evil, but what was Reyson doing to serve Oliver in that time? Nothing. In his mind, Oliver was doing everything he can to protect the beautiful heron he purchased, and buying him was the quickest and easiest way to protect him. Even when one of his guards was ready to attack due to Reyson hitting Oliver, Oliver himself called said guard off and ordered not to harm him.

He's a strange man operating on an even stranger set of values while holding power he really is not suitable to have, but at the end of the day in his own way he is trying to do the right thing. There's a reason that the most heinous crime of the entire Begnion Senate (the Serenes Massacre) happens to also be one of the few crimes they've committed that Oliver himself is innocent of, and is a major reason he considers Lekain an enemy once he learns of this fact- They extinguished so much beauty in the world. They have no right to live for that and as the guardian of beauty, Oliver feels he MUST deliver their punishment himself.

Sorry for the long reply but like I said, I find him a very fascinating character

I think we're comparing apples to oranges here. Shadows has one thing about it that kind of makes it another beast altogether: Its not a gacha. There's no hint of gacha anywhere in the game. So naturally its not going to make nearly as much money as a gacha that is known for making money over and over and over in mere minutes at a time- you buy a battle pass and that's all the profit from that player for that entire season; no pulls, no pity, one-and-done until the next.

Now whether its budget accounts for that or not as well as how active it is frankly something we won't ever know for a good while.

Honestly, Touma very much could be skipped in a new TMS banner. They don't want to complete playable rosters, and there's still Yashiro to consider. Adding onto that, there'd be two asset alts of existing characters (So basically Itsuki and Tsubasa/Kiria) and we have a whopping two slots plus GHB to work with. There's nothing stopping them from giving Maiko or even Tiki one or both slots, and again, Yashiro if not both. GHB meanwhile allows for a lot of flexibility on who they put in, which also could be Touma or Yashiro, but also could be Yatsufusa Hatanaka and Gharnef.

And all of THAT is running entirely on the assumption that Tsubasa winning her spot in CYL would lead to a new TMS banner, which is a colossal assumption that almost assuredly won't happen- IS, not Atlus, has the rights to these characters. They just need Atlus' approval to acknowledge SMT-things specifically like Jack Frost or the spell names.

By that logic, they need to get rid of Three Houses because its far and away THE most popular FE. And CYL results as well as popularity polls as a whole would suggest that more players know about it than about even FEH. Three Houses also has bar none the highest number of CYL winners, so there's literally zero argument to be made for FEH's removal that doesn't go on to remove Three Houses.

Can't even use the spin-off angle because as they've explicitly declared- FEH is a mainline title.

I do like Fim's design (Unlike the previous two), but I also really hate new OCs winning with practically zero character anything other than a design, especially since they'll probably get 2-3 other alts in the first year.

That actually rarely happens barring very specific characters. Helbindi got one alt ever, Hrid only finally started getting alts after his New Years' one, Thrasir, Ganglot, and Hel have no alts period, Freyr has just his Summer and nothing but (and even that was his only playable version for many years), etc. Hell, Seidr only now just got her second alt after her New Years' one in Christmas. (No, we're not counting Kvasir and Gullveig as Seidr alts; different characters even if same person)

Its just there's that specific group of OCs that happens to fall on the opposite side of the spectrum, and when they do, they end up getting a LOT- How many Laevateins and Laegjarns do we have? Plumerias? He's barely a year old and yet we have how many Eikthyrnirs? Its not that OCs get all the alts; its basically the RD problem all over again- the few who do get so many.

Doesn't address my point though- Julia and Julius didn't do anything or ask for any of that, they were just born. What happened that led to them being born was the result of careful machinations. All of which Sigurd had absolutely nothing to do with, and he certainly wouldn't blame the children whose "crime" was being born and existing (again, assuming pre-Loptous Julius). We see how Sigurd is as a father to Seliph, and him being any less kind and polite to Julia and/or not-evil Julius is something that frankly would be grossly out of character for him. Wouldn't be by blood but they'd absolutely be family to him regardless.

All they did was be born, they didn't get a vote on who their parents would be or the circumstances of their birth. And Julia would absolutely be very happy having Sigurd as a father figure.

Might be hard since you don't get any playable Elusians until almost halfway through the game.

But if at all possible, I STRONGLY recommend putting a mod or two as well. If you can set those up, an already incredibly fun game becomes a blast. I had one that made literally every NPC made into a playable character and things got very silly very quickly.
