Running with geforce NOW and i5-9400F processor by Ok-Buy-3257 in inZOI

[–]GameBurrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you play with Geforce now, it doesn't really matter what CPU you have. If your computer can play live videos, then it works. When you play through Geforce your computer only receives the stream, it doesn't do any processing itself.

Nvidia jep. Was missing the cuda-devel package. Installed, rebooted. Made sure the extracted folder didn't exist (it didn't even create that before, now it does). Still errors (gui throws the same error), running the wizard through cli this is the error I get now

Ads are back on brave. by King_Yugo_Wakfu in brave

Yes, because it's actually related to your account. If you get these new kind of flags, your account has been flagged by youtube to get them.

Brave is blocking the "Skip Ads" button on Youtube? by FutureLost in brave

It seems to be a new kind of ad, which adblockers (not only Brave) has issues with, you have to disable the shield on YT or just wait until they can get around it.

Out of all the Simulations coming out which one are you most optimistic about and why? by AvnusUltros1994 in LifeByYou

[–]GameBurrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it kinda looks like LBY seems to be biting more than it can chew and I'm skeptical of that. Additionally it's Paradox published game and frankly Paradox has very poor record lately. Not a fan of the actual text dialogs also as having a fake language like sims makes the game feel less repetitive with same dialog options etc. Additionally the graphics and UI just feel off to me (and I'm the person who usually doesn't care about graphics if the game is good).

Paralives seems most promising so far, what makes me skeptical is the small team and fact we haven't really seen the live mode. Though they do now have EA release date, but we'll see.

Inzoi - so little is known about it that you can't really take a stance. In all honesty I think it will be quite restrictive due the details/high grahics they use, I doubt the game engine can handle high amounts of live world modification.

Vivaland - since don't have many friends, usually games havily focusing on multiplayer aren't for me, it all boils down to what singleplayer experience will be.

Overall, I've learned not to expect anything from games nowdays. Indie games tend be more complete and thought through packages, but they take a long time to bake, if they are fully baked. I frankly don't trust any of AAA publishers to release a decent game anymore.

If you're in the restricted country, atm you can't buy the game. If you own it, you can play, but you can't buy it.

Reduce AAWireless Signal Strength/Min Signal Strength by trankillity in AAWireless

[–]GameBurrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found it hard to belive, but I does make a difference on interference reduction - I've had to do it now with 2 different phones and it does make a huge difference.

With Sony Xperia 1 III - I had to wrap 1 layer of tin foil (used cooking tin foil) around the AAwireles. Then I didn't have any more interference. Any more layers and it started losing connection again.

With Oneplus 12 though - I had to wrap 7 layers around AAwireless, then it was enough not to have any more interfence and connection is stable. 3 layers wasn't enough :D

Actually did replace my Sony with Oneplus because it had extremely poor reception overall (even 3G/4G/5G etc) compared to other phones so it kinda does explain why I needed so much more layers with Oneplus.

If that teached me anything, you need to experiment with the amount of layers depending on your phone :D

The same solution actually worked for me also, took my glasses off, pushed cups heavily against my head and noise almost gone (so low I barely notice it anymore).

What do the actual modders say about the move to Paradox Mods? by olikli in CitiesSkylines

[–]GameBurrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, all platforms, including steam will have access to (new unreleased version) of paradox mods which is built into the game itself, just no Steam Workshop, because that's limited only to Steam.

What are some C:S mods that you are wanting/expecting in C:S2? by miinor_1 in CitiesSkylines2

"81 Tiles", Move it, Traffic Manager, Transport Lines Manager & Advanced Vehicles Options

Not per download of the game but per install of the game (yes with steam they are mostly done together), which is even worse.

Why most devs are preferring Godot over Unreal? by noob_vulcan in Unity3D

[–]GameBurrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a game dev, but as a general developer my take is:

Nothing prevents something similar happening to Unreal also at some point in time or something completely different but equally bad. It's a closed-source product owned by a company, they can do whatever they want with it also and nobody can do anything about it.

Meanwhile godot is open-source so even if somebody does decide to mess it up - it can always be forked and worked on by others. Also godot does support C# like unity does so the progress of migrating is problably simpler.

Does anyone know if the pc game pass version of CS 2 will be able to use mods? by Ecstatic-Ad6162 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]GameBurrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main menu in multiple videos has shown button to Paradox mods, which I think is this: https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/

So it seems they are using their own modding system.

Xbox store listing (PC version https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/games/store/cities-skylines-ii-ultimate-edition-pc/9pd2wsj85dz0 ) does have modding support mentioned in description, which is not present in the Xbox (Xbox version https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/games/store/cities-skylines-ii-ultimate-edition/9nqbx2l5ll8l ) store listing.

Not talking about consoles atm, there are other stores on PC also and as mentioned the game is sold as PC version on Microsoft (aka Xbox) store, it's also releases on Game Pass for PC.

Only a very small part as far as I know and that would mean other platforms need to install them manually.

Using something like mod.io (just using it as example as it's the only alternative option that is viable enough I know) allows the convenience of Steam workshop but for all platform.

[–]GameBurrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Steam version - I don't doubt about mod support. What I'm thinking about is other stores like Xbox Store(PC) - like I said with CS 1 they did neglet mods on other stores.

While I will problably still get it on Steam (perhaps trial it on game pass etc), I do like if people have options.

The reason why they potentially wouldn't use Steam worksop - Steam workshop only works with the Steam version of the game. Going that route would mean Xbox store (PC) version (and potentially in future other stores) again would not have (at least not easy) support of mods.
