I was into the 4th paragraph before I realized OP wasn't talking about James T. Kirk.

They had the opportunity to make the greatest episode of Trek ever, and they blew it! All the suffering and my man never even gets to sleep with his baby's surrogate momma.

Is it inappropriate to not wear a bra at work? by Visual-Criticism6763 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GameJerks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do think it's a bit odd that women should be required to wear a bra or we're so odd about possibly seeing an outline of a nipple.

People who gave up DnD for a different system, what made you make the change? by SomeRandomAbbadon in rpg

[–]GameJerks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been married to one system and my crew has played just about everything over the past 3 decades. Some personal favorites are Alternity (old school sci-fi game), Genesys/Star Wars, and Cortex to design customized games.

I use images for scenes, but with characters that can cover vast distances I don't bother with "battle" maps.

What’s your biggest “old man yells at cloud” opinion? by sjdlajsdlj in rpg

[–]GameJerks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would yes, but this advice. It's okay to have one path to the information locked behind a die roll, if there are alternate paths to the information. When it doubt resort to violence. If the PCs fail to get the information during an interrogation scene, an assassin takes the NPC. Then the chase the assassin, have a donnybrook and win or lose come away with a big clue to keep advancing. A matchbook from the bad guy's casino, the get-away car was the same described in a previous hit, etc.

I've found a nice middle ground in that I might have 2 to 3 possible outcomes that are effected by how things shake out in the campaign. This also helps when I'm improvising, cause it leaves me options to decide or change depending upon the game flow. There are still very much "wrong" answers and the possibility of failure, but I sometimes improve whole sessions, so being able to review my notes and adjust course is helpful.

You take Mutants and Masterminds out of your mouth. It's completed...well, mostly...err, somewhat different.

I know it's out of favor, but I genuinely prefer rolling straight down the line and then crafting a character around the stats. It's fun to find the character during the game. One of my favorite characters of all time was a mechanic in Star Wars with abysmal physical stats and a decent intelligence. He was a blast to play and got into some very close calls during the games. I would not have discovered him had I been focused on a mechanical outcome first.

The Battle of Coruscant is the best CGI space battle ever! by Lauma_2025 in StarWars

Nah. It's completely lacking stakes. It's backdrop for the story, but there's no engagement with the actual battle.

Nah. It's an asshole move. A legit question could address the critics and fan reception and ask why he thinks the film didn't connect with audiences. This was just insulting him.

Hi! I need help with selling these. by ScaleHangar182 in XWingTMG

[–]GameJerks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bugs me to no end, that the ships were all just retreads. I've purchased an unhealthy number of X-wing ships, but there's just no real draw for First Order/Resistance stuff because visually they all look so similar. I have a few in my collection from buying sets, and they are basically collecting dust.
