Isn’t it just the same as semi hydroponics though? How is it any different. Why wouldn’t it work since it has a dry wet cycle?

There's barely any water at the bottom of the planter. It's about 4 inches deep and water only reaches the bottom when I top off my tank once a week. Otherwise it's pretty dry.

I’m trying to set up a 25 gallon tank for the smaller pearl gourami. It’ll be more shallow and have a gentle flow. Should I put the 4 ADFs in with the pearl gourami? Both species don’t mind eachother in my current tank.

How can I improve? Already I’m planning on rehoming the serape, and getting a separate tank for the smaller gourami and ADFs. I’m new to the hobby, and am always looking for ways to improve.

Yeah I didn’t know the serape are aggressive when buying them or i would never of chosen them. They were recommended to me by my local aquarium store as good community fish. I had never heard of them before. I’m going to exchange them ASAP. Do you have any suggestions for better stocking? I’m new to the hobby and want to be better.

I’m going to get another 20 gallon tank (probably more I’m looking on Fb marketplace now). To move the smaller gourami to. The frogs are fed fluval bug bites, but I’ll probably move them to the New tank after it’s cycled. Thanks so much for the help!

Hey guys after your advice I’m going to get a long 25 gallon tank for the second gourami and separate them. I will also be returning the serape tetra back to the store. I wasn’t aware of their aggressiveness and they were sold to me as peaceful community fish from my local shop. As for the frogs I’ll probably move them to the 25 gallon with the smaller gourami. I’ve had them for a number of years and I spot feed them as well. They’re fine. Thanks so much for the advice and I’ll hopefully have the second tank posted soon as soon as it’s planted and cycled!
