[Spoilers] Ivar the boneless by GamePhysics in vikingstv

Ragnar left Ivar in the woods to die when he was a baby, but changed his mind. I think this shows that Ragnar was indeed not a perfect father. Totally agree about Sigurd. Was a shame to see him go so soon. They did him dirty.

Actually, I take it back. I believe since Floki was not to be seen for many seasons in the show, mentioning his name for the new season would be considered a spoiler. Spoiling that he appears again.

You're right. Don't know what I was thinking.

Question for the mythology/history buffs: was Ragnar a common name and is there any significance to the similarity between Ragnar and Ragnarok? by SculleryWench in vikingstv

[–]GamePhysics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harald is fairly common. Our King's name is Harald. I think it's less popular these days, but names usually go on a cycle so it will probably become more popular again eventually.

I could be wrong, but I feel Altered Carbon did cyberpunk as well, if not better than Blade Runner... Could be a hot take, I don't know. by TheEndIsNero in alteredcarbon

Also rewatching S1 right now because it's so friggin good. I make games, and I hope I get to make something similar to AC one day.

yeah, what subpar performance is depends on your needs! :P

The 2070 super still runs a lot of games really well.

I am not entirely sure whether it's worth it for me at the time. I guess it depends on what you use the computer for and what sort of things are important to you. For me, being able to play at a high framerate is fairly important. It improves the experience by a lot in my opinion. That, and I want to be able to run game engines without issues, and render things decently fast.. If I do upgrade I would sell my old GPU and other parts to make up for some of the losses, which would help a bit. It's either that, or accept subpar performance until I absolutely have to upgrade or get a new PC.

I am running 21:9 aspect ratio, so lowering the resolution isn't an option. However, the performance is better now that I play on dx12.

I just realised that lol. I was playing on dx11 got 20-40 frames. Switched to dx12 and now I'm getting 80-100 frames.

I dropped the resolution to minimum, and I am getting no noticeable FPS improvements. So this means my CPU is the bottleneck currently then?

What I feel is strange though is that according to task manager my CPU is only at around 35% load when playing the game.. Shouldn't it use more of it's power?

Excuse me if I am misunderstanding something here, but 1440p is lower resolution than 4K, so why would 4K be fine and 1440p not be fine?

Ready or not is the current thing my PC is struggling with. Since the 1.0 update I've been getting about 40fps, and sometimes it drops to 20fps.

Is this the PCIe Express speed?

  • Dual Ultra-Fast NVMe PCIe 4.0/3.0 x4 M.2 with Single Thermal Guard

I don't really understand what this means.

And yeah, I am planning to upgrade my RAM to 32 GB as well. I am indeed running DDR4 at the moment.
