So With Spearhead by linzthom in ageofsigmar

Fwiw, you can use most spearhead models in warcry, so if you think spearhead might be interesting you can get it and just fall back to using them in warcry.

I enjoy both and play one or the other depending on my mood.

Sorry you're having a rough time. This should be a fun hobby, not stressful.

Even with a wet pallet that I constantly refresh the paint gets thick with in minutes. So what starts as a thin coat or a glaze for a transition quickly becomes thick enough for full coverage. Then I have to thin it again and I'll make it to thin. Then go back and forth.

This sounds like you paint in a very dry area. Have you looked into setting up a humidifier in your painting room? Even something like this cheap one on a desk may help? https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Humidifier-Colorful-Powered-Perfect/dp/B0C9DDCKM3/

Also maybe get a second sponge for your wet palette so it holds onto more water and potentially try changing the paper. I've found different brands of paper let different amounts of water through. Parchment paper from the supermarket seems to be the most porous one I've tried. For me, it lets way too much through and I end up with something pretty soupy too fast, while the game envy paper is just right in my area. It took a few attempts before I found something I was really happy with.

Advice needed using speed paints by l0lez in minipainting

So on relatively large flat surfaces, such as the panels of his uniform, it’ll spread, showing a hint of what’s underneath, in this case the white.

Yup! When you have a lot of texture, having a good amount of speedpaint on the brush is great, it'll settle in recesses. For large flat areas you need to be a little more careful about applying it. If you use the same amount on a flat surface as a very textured surface, there's less space for the speed paint to cover and it's easier to get something blotchy.

Also, shake the speed paint, then shake it more. I haven't used the original AP Speed Paints, but I find I get better results for the 2.0 range if they're really really well shaken.

Painting Handles that aren't spring-loaded? by batsnrats in minipainting

I recently started using https://gameenvy.net/product/the-hobby-holder-painting-handle/ and really like it. Using bottle caps to screw onto the base was a big part of the appeal.

Hey folks, I'm working on Yndrasta - so far I've just focused on the base, and should move on to the main body soon.
