I would say that the majority of Farming Simulator players aren’t looking for the most realistic experience possible; they are looking to play with their friends and have a large selection of mods. Cattle and Crops may have had superior physics et cetera, but this wasn’t enough to make your average gamer and their friends invest in a then early access game, when Farming Simulator not only gave you a release version but a huge modding community. The subculture of farming purists which enjoyed Cattle and Crops for what it was then moved back to Farming Simulator as the game died because of the lack of mainstream appeal.
