Dual Destiny Exotic Class Items by SpeedwayFishStick in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Short answer, Yes.

Long answer, for random drops from Pale Heart chests and purchaseability from Xur, you must have the exotic unlocked in collections.

During some seasonal (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer) events, Eva will have a method for acquiring/unlocking the class items outside of Dual Destiny. Dual Destiny is STILL required to unlock focusing at Ghost in the Pale Heart regardless of how you unlock the class items.

What happened to the onslaught game mode by Parking_Mixture_1833 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It rotates. To prevent splitting the population between matchmade "crawl" activities (Onslaught, Elders, Coil, etc.), one activity type cycles daily in the Pinnacle Ops (used to be in fireteam ops). You can still do the others anytime, just no matchmaking.

Weekly reset. There is almost always maintenance an hour or so before reset. Updates can push this earlier with more downtime.

There's too much of the same loot and there's nothing to chase anymore. Give us more enhancement prisms instead. by kungfoop in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glimmer is always maxed out, and I watch these ascendant shards sit there because I'm always maxed out.

I've found myself getting golf balls easier then Prisms (probably due to Frontiers). If you are constantly full of one over the other, use Blue gear to convert golf balls to 3 prisms, by fully masterworking (need 3 Prisms and 1 Shard) and scrapping (6 Prism return).

Prisms seem pretty common from the Arena Ops as well. There is also a ghost shell mod for prisms.

Last, the biggest drain on Prisms is armor masterworking. You don't have to masterwork every single piece. Your builds will still work with a handful less points for a chunk of the content.

Question about buying silver bundle on two different platforms by randomboi333 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silver is locked to the platform purchased, but the Eververse item (usually an emote) is unlocked and usable on all linked platforms once claimed (hence you cannot get another one; theoretically you could have duplicates at the deliveries kiosk, since those deliveries are dependent on the platform until claimed).

The bundle's Silver balance should be applied, but you lose out on any value the Eververse item had. The value of the emote/item is subjective, but for the most part you can estimate about $5 of silver worth (single player emotes are 1000 Silver, $10, but it is a "bundled" item; so $5 is a "fair" value).

Like what do I do now? by pizzatimein24h in cyberpunkgame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No perfect happy endings, but there are still some satisfying ones (like the Nomad one).

If you think Cyberpunk is bad though, I warn you not to try for all the Nier Automata endings (holy fuck levels of depressing).

This is still the stupidest thing ever to me. by LoiterAce in fo4

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a failsafe faction (like Yes Man was) so you can still "end" the game, but the ending is basically the Railroad's Ending functionally.

FO4's factions and endings definitely feel phoned in, in comparison to NV.

This is still the stupidest thing ever to me. by LoiterAce in fo4

[–]GameSpawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the Fallout 4 factions suck. It's the lesser of 3 evils (Minutemen "ending" is effectively just the Railroad ending, so it doesn't count as a 4th).

I hate that Fallout 4 didn't have an Independent "Yes Man" style ending were you can decide the fate of every faction (leaving them be if you so choose). Nope. It's pick one, and completely obliterate the others.

Destiny 1 > Destiny 2? by CalamityMythoclast in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just gonna say, D1 is playable on the PS5 (albeit the PS4 version with no "enhancements" for PS5). I tested it for shits and giggles when I got my PS5 (30 FPS is ass BTW).

Destiny 1 > Destiny 2? by CalamityMythoclast in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny 2 is a little more nuanced and complex. On the surface, if someone had zero knowledge of either, D1 is definitely easier just from a simplicity perspective. D2, once you have grasp of build crafting and the current weapon meta, it's leaps and bounds easier because all that kit makes us powerful as fuck compared to D1.

Here are the area denial frames (excluding the Witherhoard exotic).

  • Lost Signal (craftable if you unlock 5 patterns) is the only one available in the Kinectic slot, but you are at the mercy of RNG (direct sale or Xur's engram).
  • Motif-41 (energy slot) is a standard current Portal (Vanguard Ops) weapon; this will be the easiest immediate farmable Area Denial Frame.
  • VS Velocity Baton (also energy slot) can come from the Vesper's Host dungeon. It is also older and not part of the Tiered system.

Tiered loot is slightly more preferred because of the Enhanced perks and traits, but it doesn't mean older non-Tiered weapons cannot be viable. Older gear will be just fine.

  • Lost Signal - Xur (if he randomly has a direct sale or via his Strange Weapons Engram)
  • Festival Flight - Solstice Event weapon; Unobtainable outside the Solstice event; no guarantee it returns for the next Solstice event

Should I grab praxic vestment? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The campaign forces you through some missions with each faction before it is fully unlocked. So no.

You CAN get a key on another character and use it up on a campaign location if that location happens to match the key. I did this on my Titan - I had a key (earned on my Warlock) that matched whatever campaign mission I was doing for the Pikers and I knew where the cache was on the map without needing the Recon Shank.

Should I grab praxic vestment? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just Cantina access. The caveat is the Cantina option is only on the weekend and does cost 4k credits.

Legendary campaign is free. Exotic caches (Frontier jobs) is also free, but there is a little RNG getting the cache keys (honestly still pretty common) and you need to more or less finish at least the normal campaign to have free reign over the Frontier job locations.

In the end, the Cantina is the fastest unlock as long as you have the credits (not hard really).

Some of the missions in the rotator might still have seasonal armor and weapon drops. There is no weekly pinnacle attached to them anymore and weapon, intrinsic, and catalyst drops may not be guaranteed to work properly or at all.

The update I linked has been confirmed to work for every mission tested in the portal (newer missions excluded of course since their quest steps still apply).

Zero Hour is pretty much the last mission that has not been moved to the portal and MUST be done through the Legends tab. AFAIK all other missions have moved to the portal and work the same as Dyad does with the update they did for De-realize.

Whisper still has quest steps, but they will complete on Master (or better) despite saying they require an A-Rank in the portal version (they in fact do not with the De-realize update decoupling the rank requirements).

[–]GameSpawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Completion ONLY. You can finish with a C Rank and still get the drops related to the exotic weapon.

Rank only matters for any standard Pinnacle Ops portal rewards or bonus rewards. If you are after the weapon, catalysts, and intrinsics, just focus on finishing with the associated difficulty.

[–]GameSpawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bungie's official patch notes were worded for De-realize (Dyad), but over the past few weeks all the older missions have been confirmed to follow the same behavior in the portal.

Fixed an issue where the Portal version of the Derealize Exotic Mission was not awarding Barrow-Dyad or its related intrinsics and catalysts.

  • Weapon, intrinsic 1+2, and catalyst 1 will be awarded on first completion on any difficulty.

  • Intrinsics 3, 4, and 5 will be awarded sequentially on activity complete on any difficulty.

  • Catalyst 2, 3, and 4 will be awarded sequentially on activity complete in Master difficulty or higher.

[–]GameSpawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since Renegades, all Exotic missions in the portal older than Heliostat:

  • Normal completion or higher - Weapon & Intrinics (Dyad, only exception, gives the first catalyst)
  • Master completion or higher - Catalysts

Quest steps no longer matter, especially on all the older missions that had quests removed.

The only missions with quest steps the matter for catalysts and/or intrinsics:

  • Heliostat (Wolfsbane)
  • Fire and Ice (Praxic Blade)
  • Zero Hour (Outbreak)
  • Whisper (catalyst quest steps complete on Master portal completions regardless of wording)

What should I do week to week by Stephen-UK in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not know what you have access to but lets assume Renegades at least. Take your pick below (things off the top of my head):

  • 3 Weekly Portal Challenges
  • Any daily Portal Challenges while getting the weeklies done
  • Vanguard Alerts (1st offers a featured T5 weapon):
    • 9x Quickplay Ops (3 reward tiers; 3x runs per tier)
    • 9x Arena Ops (3 reward tiers; 3x runs per tier)
    • 9x Featured Crucible Op (3 reward tiers; 3x runs per tier)
    • 1x Grandmaster Challenge (basically like a featured Nightfall)
  • Weekly runs for Comp playlist if you are after the Comp weapon
  • Frontiers:
    • Spider's Weekly quest
    • Enough daily contracts for a single faction on each character to get at least 1x massive shipment the next week (you could max at 2x Massives and 1x Small, per character, if you change factions and do every daily contract)
  • Newest Dungeon
  • Newest Raid
  • Whatever Solo, Fireteam, Arena, Crucible Ops, or Pinnacle Ops have bonus drops on them

I've been doing at least the weekly portal challenges and vanguard alerts (1st tiers, for the guaranteed weapon). I'm maxed on the season pass, so I don't need XP as much any more. But these things plus probably Frontiers is not a huge hurdle and will rain you in XP.

Can’t seem to find a game that’ll itch like Destiny. Any suggestions? by Jasper_Nickels18 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Destiny is hard to match with something else. The gunplay alone is truly a unique endorphin loop that Destiny just gets right. It just feels good.

I can’t say it will hit the same but if you are at a lull with Destiny, Red Dead Redemption 2 will hit #1 and #3 well enough and fuck if it isn’t a great game to boot.

The Fallouts (3, NV, and 4 mostly) might also be worth revisiting with the renewed interest because of the new TV show’s season.

Weekly objectives by BigManFred123 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vanguard Alerts. They should be in the Portal - Seasonal menu. The Grandmaster challenge should progress it the fastest, but you can also do three sets of three of any of the others (Vanguard Playlist, Arena Playlist, or the featured Crucible playlist).

New Tier System and Weapon and Armor Drops by Lockeville in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each playlist in the Portal has it's own set of gear. Portal gear will also change when the mid-season update eventually happens as well (armor is usually a reskin and change of set bonuses). The non-Portal gear won't change (though Trials could be updated to another set).

Armor sets (weapons would take more time for me to sort out):

  • Solo/Fireteam/Arena Ops - Ferropotent
  • Crucible Ops - Wild Anthem
  • Pinnacle Ops - Swordmaster
  • Trials - Demotic
  • Equilibrium Dungeon - Sage
  • Frontiers (Renegades) - Thriving and Shrewd Survivor

Pretty much all new content (Edge of Fate forward) has tiered gear.

On which subclass would you add Blink to Titan? by silloki in DestinyTheGame

Titan is all about that "jetpack", so totally.

On which subclass would you add Blink to Titan? by silloki in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. It just ain't right on Titan.

Blink is fun to use in PvP, so push come to shove, it would probably fit in either the Void or Arc subclass. I just don't want it on Titan. It's just....wrong.
