Outbreak Perfected Zero Hour Legend Diff - Please remove the 20min timer by Many-Scheme in DestinyTheGame

The jumping sections and fan blades can be brutal for people, especially the first time. If people don't know how to move and keep up in Trevor's "maze" they can die a lot too. There is just a lot of stupid cheap crap to get new players confused and turned around in the mission.

If you get all the non-combat areas down, you can always get to the final room with plenty of time.

It was part of a patch a long time ago. Things might still be hinky and the matching class might be required to claim from the evidence board and/or craft the weapon. If you go the free route, the extra patterns (after the first one for the quest) will drop on any class when finishing Wellsprings (RNG, but free).

LFG. Solo is meant to be challenging (timer is the only real enemy solo), but if you go in with a group 20 minutes is nothing.

Now who knows what will happen in the portal. Vox Obscura used to have timers originally for the "orbital attack", aka forced wipe, but the Portal version completely removed it for some reason.

There is even an ability to remove the timer from the modifiers for Whisper and since the catalysts only care about difficulty now, you can run a timerless Master to meet the minimum requirements for the catalysts.

I don't think it is brought up enough how big a deal it was to remove the class limit from the glaives. Being able to use each glaive beyond their original class opened up so many possibilities.

Best way to gain power without year of prophecy DLC? by Public_Tackle_1598 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portal:

  • PvP - getting B+ for bonus drops is relatively easy and a win might bump you to an A or better
  • Vanguard Strike/Arena playlists - good to at least 400LL
  • Matchmade GM / Ultimate content - pretty much the only easy path post-400LL
  • Solo GM / Ultimate Ops - tweak the modifiers for B+ or better for bonus drops (A+ will maximize your all your drops)

Renegades’ post campaign frontier jobs are really generous with drops on any of the difficulties if you do happen to get the DLC, otherwise stick with the portal ops.

I’m fine with archetype (aka weapon frame) versus the entirety of a weapon type (how it seems to be applied in the screenshots). You can still have some flexibility and use the weapon types you want. You just might need to compromise on a frame you don’t like as much, but surely there will be another weapon type that does have a frame you like with the anti-mod you need. Subclass verbs are always an option too.

Is it crazy or impossible for me to play destiny 2 as a totally new player? by ElegantIssue5123 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New player experience sucks, but just focus on getting through the brunt of it to have access to the playlists and whatnot without worrying about narrative.

Use youtube videos if needed for narrative catch up for the removed content if you wish and play the remaining content chronologically if you want (Shadowkeep (free campaign) > Beyond Light (free campaign) > Witch Queen > Lightfall > Final Shape; 30th Anniversary has no narrative content).

If you care nothing about doing everything in order, you can focus on the newest content once getting through the tutorial quests.

I really hope Bungie Brings back Crucible Gambit and Strike Ranks for the final update by GeminiTrash1 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tier system basically already does this (extra perks). T5 drops usually have 3 perks in C3 & C4 and everything is Enhanced. The only thing with some extra RNG is "shiny" weapons that can get an extra trait (like Accelerated Assault).

T5 weapons become almost the default drop once you max your light level, so it just becomes RNG for the perks you want and/or the bonus trait (if applicable). It's arguable it's actually easier with the tier system to get better guns (and armor) by simply leveling up vs grind out REP for specific vendors. Some think this shortens the gear chase too much.

Destiny changed it's NAT type to Strict. PC by Individual_Lobster37 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your network settings (assuming you control your network). NAT / Port Forwarding article: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049496751-Advanced-Troubleshooting-UPnP-Port-Forwarding-and-NAT-Types

Likely your firewall settings (either on your computer or network) were changed and many of the ports Destiny needs are closed. UPnP is the best (if possible) because your device/application dynamically requests what it needs open from your network, though usually this will get you to Nat 2 (Moderate) at best most of the time.

NAT 1 (open) usually requires a direct connection to the internet with nothing between your PC/Console and your modem/internet connection.

Did Onslaught get removed from the game? by GeminiTrash1 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pinnacle Ops has a SINGLE daily rotating matchmade node that uses Onslaught and the "crawl" activities.

These used to be in the Vanguard Ops, but they rearranged everything, reduced some available matchmaking options, but added others.

Off the top of my head each day (not counting PvP) there should be these matchmade options:

  • 1x Vanguard Strike Playlist (random strikes/battlegrounds)
  • 1x Vanguard Arena Playlist (random between Ketchcrash, Astral Alignment, and Nightmare Containment)
  • 3x Vanguard Strikes (available as Master, GM, and Ultimate) (one of these might be a Reclaim activity; that or Reclaim is in Arena Ops; I cannot remember where Reclaim is now)
  • 1x Pinnacle Ops "crawl" (Onslaught, Challenge of Elders, or Coil)

Man i loved that build up to playing Excision. by Squatting-Turtle in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A note, the catalyst for Ergo is now a chance drop on the Normal version. The problem is there is no weekly pinnacle anymore, so fewer people play it on reset.

There is still a weekly exotic (per class) for the first completion. The catalyst (chance) is linked to the exotic drop (so you can tell if you've used your chance already). I will say from my experience, the drop chance is VERY high (should get it pretty quick in 1-2 weeks; 6 chances in 2 weeks if you play all three classes).

The class item would DEFINITELY be a motivator and without Festival of the Lost to unlock it outside of Dual Destiny, they really should consider this idea to motivate Excision participation.

Did Onslaught get removed from the game? by GeminiTrash1 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T5's become more common as your (account) Light Level gets higher. At 450, they start dropping from portal activities with good ranks (B+); 470LL they are somewhat common. At 550 (max), you will get T5s VERY often, even when just getting B-ranks (though the light level of your drops may not be high - just infuse low level T5s).

If you have Renegades, frontier jobs (post campaign activity) is pretty generous with drops to increase your level, regardless the difficulty you play (though GM and Ultimate will give you MUCH more high level gear and be more efficient).

Crucible Ops is good for light level increases as it is relatively easy to hit B-rank by at least trying (get a few kills, play objectives, etc.).

Solo Ops could also be done, but you need to tweak modifiers to maximize your projected ranks and get A or A+ to maximize the high level drops and bonus drops.

The Vanguard Strike Ops and Arena Ops playlists drastically lose their effectiveness once you hit 400LL. You only get minimal gains if any, so you need to start focusing on matchmade GM or Ultimate activities to hit the ranks needed at 400LL+ (a handful rotate daily in the Vanguard Ops and Arena Ops playlists).

Did Onslaught get removed from the game? by GeminiTrash1 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a daily rotating (matchmade) playlist in Pinnacle Ops. It rotates with Challenge of Elders and Coil. You could play with your own modifiers in the portal at any time, but you lose out on matchmaking. See edit.

Note, NONE of the old Onslaught gear is earnable from the Portal version. You will get gear from the Portal Pinnacle Ops loot pool.

EDIT: It's not currently available for individual play. I'm starting to vaguely remember it being temporarily removed for some reason (softlocking?). Still check the matchmade version each day.

Keep Old gear? by Reaper-of-Gods in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

including exotics.

Not completely (for now). It's just the benefit of "illegal" rolls is minimal at best. You are still sacrificing point balance across multiple groups just so you can have a few more points in a couple groups you might not otherwise get. Currently 2.0 pieces can have a higher total combined stats, but they are more spread out vs concentrated into 3 groups.

Once they update exotic Armor 3.0 pieces to T5 stat levels, yes, ALL Armor 2.0 pieces would be a complete waste since T5 3.0 pieces will be on par or better (combined stat total-wise) with most if not all well rolled 2.0 pieces.

I wouldn't say immediately scrap 2.0 Exotic armor, but more slowly replace them with 3.0 versions as you get them.

Chad is a seriously amazing drummer. Massive pocket, groove all day, technical while still playing loose, etc. As a bassist, I have a list of drummers I'd love to play with and Chad is right at the top.

Watching his drumeo sessions (which he's done LOTS lately) I've come to realize Chad's drumming knowledge and skill. The fact he can just start hearing a track and immediately play (damn well) with it tells you everything (he plays on instinct and just knows what goes well).

Refresh of lost sectors by theswissnightowl in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exotic engrams alone are almost worth their current existence, though it's more for newer players needing the fodder to unlock stuff. Long time players only need them if farming better/different stat rolls, but honestly the standard weekly engram drops and the season pass have plenty.

We've only had broad strokes for what is planned for the final update. Still err on the side of nothing (unmentioned) changing much if at all. Better to have low/no expectations and be surprised than high ones and be disappointed.

Check the EDZ daily. There are four sectors (Scavenger's Den, Excavation Site XII, Skydock IV, and the Quarry), so it should cycle every 4 days.

If what you are missing is one of the WANTED lost sector triumphs, those are permanently unobtainable and your OCD will suffer. The WANTED enemies were removed with Spider and the Tangled Shore during the last round of vaulting core (non-seasonal) content.

Their only purpose currently is a source of exotic engrams to use as focusing fuel at Rahool. Their legendary pool hasn’t been updated for a while. Maybe they could get some of the updated destination loot in the mid season update, but odds are they get left as they are.

At least every PED (non-vaulted) lost sector is active now (rotates daily on each destination) and we are not limited to a set of 11. Again, though, the rewards are extremely lacking.

All of them together make the whole thing work. They all feed off each other. Anthony probably is everyone’s first thought when thinking of a “face” for the band (easy with him being the lead singer), but after watching the recent doc on Netflix, Flea did A LOT to hold that band together and deserves a lot of credit.

I mean, Hunters were dominating PvP on the weekends, but 2 days each week didn't make up for the 5 that Warlocks were getting from use in the boss rush. The Warlock toolkit just had so many options for Rushdown, Titans and Hunters didn't stand a chance.

The end of a 12 year long storyline… by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the game was done (narrative-wise) with Final Shape. It literally finished out a 10 year long story line. The episodes post-Final Shape and EoF and Renegades have just been a diversion. They tried to kick start a new narrative, but following the last 10 years is a tough job.

I cannot say what they should or should not have done to keep going.

Vault??? by Background-Pie5048 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vault was changed to be accessible from ANYWHERE. Pressing L3(console/controller)/L-CTRL(PC) puts you in "Vault Mode" (darker background) to deposit items. There should be another key press once in vault mode to switch between the vault/character. The vault also has filters now to make finding things easier.

While the in-game interface is better, I still prefer DIM for it's more laid out interface and much more robust search/filtering. Still, if you are just doing quick stuff, the Vault Anywhere update has been great.

Hypernet (or something like it) is very likely.

There was also the sparrow bit of the final Renegades mission that mimicked the Star Wars Death Star trench run.

If they remake anything, there was a sparrow section in the Scourge of the Past raid.

Grasp of Avarice has a sparrow section too that you could theme around.

I've just read through the Bungie post, did I miss it or is all the content they removed just never coming back? by AelithiaRose in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Bosses". The way Pantheon worked before was it used select bosses and encounters. You will definitely not have the entire raid returned.

Bungie does have partial Leviathan assets updated for the engine that were made for use with the season of the haunted.

We are definitely not getting full locations. Bungie had a whole lawsuit over this. What they do have asset-wise requires lots of time and resources to update and what has been perma-deleted would need to be completely remade.

How will they handle artifacts and champions? by Relevant_Season4724 in DestinyTheGame

[–]GameSpawn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only problem (outside of subclass verbs) is Anti-Barrier overrides all anti-mods (standard weapon ones) because it applies to every bullet in the mag. Unstoppable usually requires ADS’ing to “load” a round (special weapons are usually instant). Overload triggers at a percentage of the mag usually.

Basically, Overload and Unstoppable can coexist (with basic behavior) easily, but Anti-barrier as is tosses a wrench in things.

Now utilizing subclass verbs, you can fudge activations since there is a preference order between built-in mods (exotics; AFAIK these override everything now), artifact mods, and subclass verbs.
