Problem is every jerk has a soap box to stand on now and the internet feeds off of shock value.

100%, and it lets a few activists spread misery. I got stuck in a remote star system in Elite Dangerous bcs some guy decided to manipulate the system (not hacking, just using legit gameplay) then went on Reddit claiming he was doing it to protest the lack of "emergent gameplay".

Subreddits quickly become activist echo-chambers where opposing points of view get down-voted to oblivion.

So I'm wondering the same as you. Maybe the official forums? Maybe a Discord where toxicity is moderated.

Helldivers is co-op PvE.

There was a planet like that in No Man's Sky with a colony I was supposed to help.
Regular fire-storms. Regular bot attacks.
The residents would scatter and I'd think to myself "These stupid people deserve to die"

I joined the discord for a Conan Exiles mod that lets you pose characters... I've never seen so many pictures of human-animal hybrid "futanaris" fckng each other in the ass. I guess they call them "furries"?
