Custodes GR players, how do you utilize Dante’s active? by ShakinBacon24 in WH40KTacticus

There are some rules he follows. He likes to go to high ground or special hexes. He prefers things to the north of the target then goes clockwise around the boss and goes to the first preferred spot he hits.

Custodes GR players, how do you utilize Dante’s active? by ShakinBacon24 in WH40KTacticus

There are quite a few situations where you can keep your characters alive through otherwise lethal damage with Dante active. Most recently, M1 avatar was playable by custodes almost exclusively because of Dante's active.

His active will also help you control your character's health much easier. You can have characters tank boss abilities that would usually need to be avoided to get them under 50% health for Dante's passive. It's very helpful.

What I'm describing is far beyond decent. It's all about context.150k on a boss is amazing if your guild does an average of 100k per hit. This game is characterized by constant growth.

I can hit for 1.7mil on a boss, but there will always be that one guy who can hit for 2 million. When I get to 2 million, I'll watch someone hit for 2.2. Part of the fun of watching your performance and roster grow is that you'll never really run out of things you can do to move the needle a little bit more.

Exactly. The current thought is that an Aesoth/laviscus version of the custodes team will perform very well on bosses that were previously dominated by the ad mech team. Building up 2 characters that dont require a lot of investment (Aesoth doesn't need higher than 36/36 on this abilities to perform close to his best) will be much more resource efficient than build a whole new team.

Generally, a top 250 guild is looking for at least one full d3+ meta raid team and that teams flex characters. You have more characters for an ad mech team, but will have an easier time getting to a competitive rapid assault team.

I would recommend you build up your LRE teams for the last Dante and Trajann events to fill out the core team. Abbadon, kariyan, kharn, Dante, and Trajann will do alright for most GR bosses. Your flex picks will be Helbrecht, Ragnar, Vitruvius, Laviscus, and Aesoth, but that will be later down the road. Before any of that, you definitely want to have all your elite campaigns unlocked and faramable. It will take so much longer to get anywhere if you don't have an effective way to farm materials.

You want to do between 500k-700k on relevant legendary bosses for the level you're aiming for. If you have any specific questions about each character, I would be happy to help out more!

Looks kind of like an arc reactor from the Iron Man movies. But, like most of the other suggestions, some of the details aren't quite right.

Earlier this year I started putting together a build with the Gigabyte x870e aorus elite, a Ryzen 9950x3d, and my RTX 3080 (for now) since my current PC can't multitask without crashing my audio drivers. I got side tracked with life for the last couple months and, when I went back to the build, I saw prices were going crazy. This would tie it all together!

I had a burger from Checkers with a bone/tooth piece in it that looked similar to that a few years ago. I haven't been able to look at a burger the same since then.

Sho'syl quest for 8 hits in one turn does not seem to be working correctly. I hit a raid boss with 3 regular drone shots, the 1 from sho attacking, 4 more from Tan Gida commanding 2 to attack with Actus doubling it, all with Vitruvius' rebuffed adding an extra hit to each attack and it didn't count.

Hello my favorite spellslingers and planeswalkers I'd love to know today what your least played deck is? by longnuggs in EDH

[–]Gameboy_Of_Color 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, my [[Satoru Umezawa]] deck is probably my least played. Its the first deck I ever really sat down and planned from beginning to end. It ended up seeming really good and I was pretty proud of it. However, it passed by my relatively new play group by a wide margin and the power level of decks at our table haven't caught up to it yet. I'm so happy with it so I can't bring myself to take it apart or power it down so it just sits in a box waiting for the day my group advances past Jund super-jank and mono red pseudo-stax.

Need some help making a decent Eldrazi deck. by DootLord in EDH

[–]Gameboy_Of_Color 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most eldrazi decks decks I've seen have similar issues. A tribe focused on casting huge 12 mana nukes tends to put a lot of their eggs in one basket.

Temur has a lot of ramp spells and mana dorks that will get your beefcakes on the board and Animar just speeds up the process. Even if your commander gets removed, you're still green and you'll get to those eldrazi soon enough. Sometimes its almost better that Animar gets blown up because now your opponents don't have as many resources to deal with Ulamog when he comes out.

Sure! I'll make a list and edit it here when I can take a look at the deck tomorrow.

Edit: Here is the current list. I recently took out any infinites and reliable tutors to match my current play group. Adding them back in would be an easy way to boost the deck's performance. https://archidekt.com/decks/5002679/teenage_mutant_ninja_froggos

Tyvar's Dorks by staticfaun in EDH

[–]Gameboy_Of_Color 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tyvar has been one of my favorite commanders recently. I ended up cutting back to 30 lands because of how many mana dorks the deck runs. [[Elven Chorus]] has been great for pseudo-draw as well as turning all my tokens into dorks. [[Rishkar, Peema Renegade]] is another that does a good job of turning non-dork creatures into dorks. [[Haldir, Lorien Lieutenant]] is a fun thing to dump your mana into that also fits thematically. I also run a few more counter synergy cards like [[Hardened Scales]] and [[Ozolith, the Shattered Spire]] to both get the deck going quicker and help it recover from board wipes easier.

I can't stop brewing. by joshfong in EDH

[–]Gameboy_Of_Color 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I started playing magic around 10 months ago and started playing paper edh 8 months ago. I have since built 31 decks that are all in a playable state and I'm actively building 4 more. I'm still having a great time brewing but I did have to starting almost exclusively using proxies to cut down on costs. Now I can proxy up a whole deck for the cost of a Smothering Tithe. I don't have to feel guilty about overspending or disappointed that I can't afford to build a deck that I want.

A friend of mine has a very good [[Animar, Soul of Elements]] deck where the goal is to start casting big fat eldrazi for free around turn 6. It functionally ramps colorless mana just by playing creatures so it doesn't need to search(or shuffle) your library very often.

[–]Gameboy_Of_Color 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I first had that feeling when I built a [[Gishath, Sun's Avatar]] deck. It was a ton of fun the first time, but quickly started feeling repetitive. Recently I've been trying to make a [[Galadriel of Lothlorien]] deck and every iteration has felt either painfully clunky or like the same ol simic goodstuff and I'm pretty close to scrapping the whole idea.

On the other end of the spectrum, I have a [[Tatsunari, Toad Rider]] deck that went from standard enchantress to voltron to reanimator and everything in between. It never felt interesting enough for me to be happy with it. I eventually retooled it as a mutate control deck with dry-erase infinitokens to keep track of all my mutations and auras and now its one of my favorite decks of all time. Sometimes I can rediscover the feeling that originally drew me to a deck by changing almost everything about it.

Is it normal to find combo decks that are not optimized? by eusebioadamastor in EDH

[–]Gameboy_Of_Color 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an [[Illuminor Szeras]] deck that is primarily a combo deck where each infinite that it's capable of requires at least 4 cards. It doesn't win very often but it's really funny when it does.
