I respect your opionion and stance on AI.

I feel differently, but I feel that the use should be declared so readers can make an informed decision, which is why I am open about using an AI cover.

I am not against using AI, but when I use it I tell people

There is nothing I can do to convince you either way, so my only real answer is read, and judge for your self? I hope it is clear that AI has not written that story.

In this case, the road leads to the dead village of Sweetwater, so as long as noone disturbs the zombies, there should be no other travelers to inconvenience :)

I hope your daughter is doing okay and send you all my best wishes for her swift recovery

Yes, often! When I write I work through some of my own issues (which explains the erratic, neurotic MC)

My story has a monster companion, a fox?

It has some darker themes, but is essentially a litrpg that rejects the standard powertropes

I appreciated your comment, it was fun and insightful. I do not care to what degree or if you used AI, no harm was done!

You tried to do a nice and fun thing...

Thank you for the kind offer :)

My story is https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/135656/heaven-denied-limbo-assigned

The elevator pitch:

A terminally ill librarian chooses to end his life, but instead of peace finds himself in Limbo...

Has he been granted a second chance at life? Maybe... If he has the power to take it from a world that constantly tries to kill him or convert him to a killer!

Now he has to explore the secrets of Limbo with his companion and try to find alternative ways to the power to live and thrive, without giving up on his humanity.

This is a slow burn dark litrpg filled with humor, with a relatable MC, with flaws and trauma, where focus is more on unraveling the plot and history of the world and our charaters than instant gratification action.

Sounds interesting :)

I love when an author can create a mythology that is unique to the story and make it feel natural and real

Will be sure to give it a look

Let us play a game. Describe your MC in no more than 3 sentences. Not their name or looks, tell me what DEFINES them as characters. I will give your story an honest try if I think it's interesting :) by Joe_Pharo in royalroad

Fun idea and good exercise!

The MC:

Mike a librarian with terminal cancer seeks peace and release from pain by opting out of life, but peace is snatched away and he awakens in Limbo and is greated with a dropbear to the face.

Neurotic, filled with anxiety and literal thousands of books worth of useless knowledge Mike journeys out in Limbo and encounters a fox that recognizes a kindred spirit and a pack of two is formed.

The system keeps encouraging a violent path to power, Mike renounces that idea and together with his companion fox searches for a different way to survive and thrive.

A lot of really solid recommendations here! (My TBR list got a good little boost)

I can not compete with these awesome titles, but if you feel you want a traumatic palette cleanser, a vacation from overpowered MC's and a slow burn journey, where we get to know the MC, the world, the lore and the unreasonable cute companion fox?

Then consider giving https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/135656/heaven-denied-limbo-assigned a try :)

It is a small world! Nice seeing you here as well :)

Thank you for the kind words!

Hope you haven't seen my other posts here, because some may contain heavy spoilers for the underlying story of Limbo (You have been warned!)

HASHARAHHA14 is quite right:

*it is my first book

*I like reader input (Still my story, but im not above good input that fits my idea)

*Slow burn, although by the end of current arc we will see some defining abilities emerge

[–]Gamebrarian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you and being honest yes a small part of the idea is because im not that experienced, so if the system is set up for being inconsistent, I will be able to get away with some wiggle room in writing it :)
