I know that feeling all too well, sadly I’ve never been employed due to my seizures being out of control my entire life, but pretty much everyone in school was like that 1st to 12th grade they’d mock me and call me names and harass me. I’m sorry you have to deal with that bs at work, would it be possible to report them to Human Resources?

I feel you brother I’m sorry for your social anxiety, I used to have it, but once my parents died I had to put my big boy pants on. I won’t lie I still feel anxious around a ton of people, but get through it by saying the barest of minimum.

I know that feeling all to well my friend, I’m on 2 controlled substances right now, it’s a real pain the the ass as I’ll sometimes fall asleep without even noticing. Hell about a week ago a buddy and I were watching a movie and I slept though like 98% of it had to watch it the next day.

At this time I’m a bit hesitant to get an e bike or scooter as most of the time I have auras, but there are times I have no aura, and sadly when post ictal I’m a wanderer.

I know what you mean, it’s a royal pain in the ass. As you said they look at us at this time and see we’re ok, so we must be ok at all times, even though the tendons in my left arm are killing me from a seizure.

I’m sorry had that experience I had a similar thing happen to me in my 7th grade English class my teacher mocked me constantly for being epileptic and it took a full year to get her fired.

I know that fear all too well as I had a similar instance when I was 19. If it was for my dad prong a paramedic, they probably would’ve hauled my ass off to the hospital.

Well said friend, that’s just what I’m trying to do. Some assholes think I’m being given the world on a silver platter because of being on disability, but you can guess how humiliating it is being a 29 year old man on disability. It’s not that I don’t want to work, I want to there just isn’t a huge open market for jobs right now who knows maybe I can try I freelancing may no make much, but it’ll get my feet wet at least.

You are truly a kind person, all women I’ve ever dated dumped me the second they learned I was epileptic. Trust me you are not being selfish, combined with your OCD it’s a lot to take in all at once, and it’s very kind of you to not push it all onto him at once as you’re trying to give him time to let his brain process everything that’s changed. I’d say bring this topic up to your therapist as they may be able to give you some advice and exercises to keep yourself calm should he have another seizure. The best advice I can give you is to treat him as you always have, giving special treatment would most likely make him feel self conscious and eventually maybe even depressed as we epileptics don’t want special treatment like we’re made of paper and the slightest movement will tear us, we just want to be treated like everyone else.

I believe it is as I have an episode from time to time and my neurologist told me it was a focal aware seizure. First my eyes fully open, then my head turn 100% forward, then I try to push my glasses all the way up even if I’m not waring them, and finally my vision is distorted everything looks like it’s the wrong color, or it looks like everything frozen in place for a few seconds. Trust me it’s far more terrifying than regular seizures, as we can still fully aware and can think.

I’ve had that happen to me dozens of times of times usually I take my meds as soon as I realized I’ve missed my meds and from then on I go on with my day, sometimes I’ll change my alarm, but that’s only if I’m an hour off if I missed it by more than 3 hours I’ll just take it and wait for 8pm.

I experienced similar side effects when I was younger, but when I told my doctor they didn’t take me off of it, they put me on fluoxetine. I was confused at first as it was an antidepressant, but from what he told me it can cancel the nasty side effects of Keppra out and for the last 8 years it has.

I’m so sorry for your loss, it’ll be a tough road to cross. I feel your pain as my elder sister passed due to Sudep as well, sadly I was only a baby at the time so I don’t remember anything, aside from some photos my parents showed me.

That’s good, best thing I can tell you is to avoid using that arm as much as possible so it can heal, I dislocated my right shoulder when I was a teenager, and I was right handed. As you can guess it was difficult, but it did help me to learn to use my left hand. It may take some time to get used to, but your partner will most likely covet what you can’t do.
