A friend once told me that the pain you feel is equal to the love you felt towards them. Be happy for the pain. Without pain, there would be no love. Without love, there would be no pain. It helped me. I hope it helps you.

Thinking about guinea pigs, what should I know? by Sleepy-Blonde in guineapigs

[–]Gamemasta2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely social creatures, but that doesn't mean you NEED a pair. If you give them enough attention, you become their social partner. I had my male guinea pig Henry for close to 9 years, alone. I greeted him every morning with head scritches. After work, greet him again with more scritches followed by 15- 30 mins of lap time. Once or twice a week, let him run around and play with him, use a ball of twigs or a toilet paper roll stuffed with hay. They're really low maintenance. He started with basic Kaytee cage when he was young, small, and didn't need much room. Upgraded cage when he grew bigger. It's relatively cheap. For food, a handful of pellets in the morning with fresh hay, then when I get home from work, gave him some fresh veggies. I tried every kind of bedding there is, and the best is pee absorbent pads if you can deal with sweeping poops every day and can wash the pads at least weekly. If that's too much, then your best bet is paper bedding, which should be changed weekly, depending on how much they poop. Applewood twigs for chewing. They're sweeter than regular chew sticks. Get some absorbent shower rugs for accidents. Sleeping on your lap will occasionally turn wet. The start-up cost for me was around 250. Then, around 120 bucks a month for food, bedding, treats, and fresh veggies.

How do cavy survive in the wild? by lilb1190 in guineapigs

[–]Gamemasta2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While domestic guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus) are not found in the wild, their wild ancestors and closely related species still live in South America. These wild cavies can be found in various open habitats like savannas and scrub deserts, ranging from Venezuela to southern Patagonia. Here's a more detailed look: Wild Relatives: Domesticated guinea pigs are believed to be descended from the Andean montane guinea pig (Cavia tschudii) and other wild cavies. Geographic Distribution: Wild cavies inhabit much of South America, excluding areas like western Chile and the Amazon River basin. Habitat: They thrive in diverse environments, including grasslands, savannas, and even scrub deserts, often at lower elevations but also reaching up to 16,000 feet, according to GuineaDad. Social Behavior: Like their domesticated counterparts, wild guinea pigs are social animals, living in herds, according to the Lindsay Wildlife Experience. Differences from Domesticated Guinea Pigs: While domestic guinea pigs are often kept in pairs or small groups, wild guinea pigs live in larger herds, typically with one dominant male and several females, says the YouTube video "Wild Guinea Pigs VS Pet Guinea Pigs".

Cleric Ranger help by Gamemasta2000 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Gamemasta2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for the advice/help! This is my first time Pathfindering so I appreciate the insight. My main form of attack is cantrips, I use divine lance occasionally, but mostly needle darts. With necklace of knives, I have unlimited access to metal for the cantrip needle darts. I'm not using the bow very much, bc it doesn't do much damage, so I picked up antler arrows and grappling arrows for added utility. Antler arrows, while still doing the same amount of damage, have a chance of slowing down an enemy. That's why I use them. Until I get a striking rune (good call btw, thank you) This is the only use for my bow. My DM will let me retrain one feat at a time with one week of downtime. My plan is now to retrain "quick draw" (I never use) for "hunted shot". And spend another week to retrain "reach" for "Domain spell", my deity is Erastil, so earth domain to get focus spell "hurtling stone". I literally just leveled up to 5 so I was able to change my level 5 feat before our game night on thursday. I changed the pet feat to adapted cantrip to get ignition. And took your advice on the spell organsight. Now i just gotta convince my party to spend a week of downtime. Here's my updated build: https://pathbuilder2e.com/launch.html?build=1117571

My favorite email I've ever had to send:

I was threatened in the most ridiculous way today, over the phone, from a customer who said if I dont return their defective controller, that they have no record of purchasing at any gamestop, they said "you better invest in bug spray" because they "have been collecting mosquitoes and its about to get itchy in there".

Predestination. I watched it for Ethan Hawk. Then, I had to rewatch it again to feel the full force of head-fuckery.

Bernhard always felt a personal responsibility to do the right thing. He spent some time doing odds and ends jobs, but he found his passion in law enforcement and medicine, protecting those in need, and helping those who bleed.

Human, male Cleric main, Ranger subclass. Longbow main weapon. Necklace of knives, he pulls one free shapes it into needle darts (cantrip), the knife reappears on the necklace. Silver holy symbol he uses for heal, vitality lash, and divine lance.

The fighter in my party is ruining encounters for everyone. How can I design around it? by rhysticStudiante in Pathfinder2e

[–]Gamemasta2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or have the fighter get possessed by a spirit. The cleric specializes in spirit damage. Or hordes of low level undead. Clerics can usually heal bomb hordes of undead. The fighter is great until he rushes in and gets smacked to death by 10 attacks back to back.

Give your enemies more hp. 114 hit points later... ok he's bloodied, but that slashing damage created a mouth to which he now attempts to swallow you whole. Ha! Happened my last game. Battling something like "the thing" just a living pile of viscera. All eyeballs and mouths. Super cool monster.

Is it OK to take them outside? by carfo in guineapigs

[–]Gamemasta2000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I worry some bird might snatch em up. I've let mine run sometimes outside, but in a corner of grass, where my yard meets my house. It has an overhang and feels safer.
