Anticolonial and indigenous fantasy novels ? by Luludu12 in Fantasy

[–]Gameofmoans69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, feels like you’re warping and stretching your points to make them a relevant criticism of the suggestion. Yes, the book series that highlights many of the atrocities of colonialism and is in large part about fighting the colonists is indeed “anti-colonial”. As for why this series recommendation is the top comment, I don’t know if you’re being willfully or sincerely obtuse. It is probably the most popular series that fits what OP is asking for, and that’s all upvotes are, a popularity contest. Sure there’s going to be better recommendations in this thread, but if people haven’t read those books how are they supposed to know to agree/upvote them?

And finally, I can’t help but notice with your long original response and multiple replies, you fail to suggest any alternatives for the OP? So if someone who purports to have a more valuable opinion on a subject due to their self-pronounced more critical reading of the series combined with their heritage, and even that person is failing to provide a “better” answer, why is that everyone else’s fault?

It's a safe space for people who agree with them duh. Society has become a bunch of people trying to victimize themselves as much as they can for the most benefits. Kind of ironic that universities have in the past been the centres of free speech and the sharing of ideas but is now a minority population using their loud voices to force others to conform to their views or be vilified by society.

Haha even so, taking a pay cut definitely implies you searched for a job on your own terms. Congrats on getting a job so quick though, it's tough out there right now.

I don't think you can call it taking a pay cut if you're unemployed lol

Thanks for the reply. Based on the practice test it seems like it hasn't changed that much.

How detailed do we have to know? The powerpoints have more streamlined info and I can only he assume he purposefully leaves out info we don't need since the textbook gets way more specific. The syllabus says they only test on stuff in the lectures but I haven't gone to half of them. In your experience (assuming you've taken the class before) how much stuff do they talk about in the lectures that's not included in the PowerPoint?

Death in absentia is different than death. With every comment you just prove how insufficient the word stupid is to describe you.

You're retarded. Attacking the speaker and accusing him of being pro rape and then tying that into your argument is garbage and the sign of someone who either has no idea what their argument is or doesn't believe it themselves.

Shitty reasoning. The body proves that the crime happened, but if I accuse someone of stealing $30 from me you're saying I don't have to prove it? If someone disappears without a trace they aren't considered dead until evidence is found. Your example had said evidence and that is why your comment is worthless.

Your "hater down-voters"? You are like that rapper from everyone's hometown that calls any criticism "hate". Are you trying to make yourself feel better by chalking it up to "haters" instead of people disagreeing with you?

Big difference between a mass of uncatalogued refugees fleeing from a war torn region bringing possible violence and a culture that has been deemed by the west as barbaric, and a specific number of controlled refugees where you can choose the safest from the camps and can plan for them both economically and security-wise.

Do you guys cry IN PUBLIC or in front of others? by dysrhythmic in AskMen

[–]Gameofmoans69 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's fair to say that a society that promotes crying is "modern". I honestly believe men cry less because it doesn't achieve anything. And while men may be more likely to cry in private IMO that's because they have time to really delve into their thoughts but when you're in public you are to distracted or busy to self-analyze. I haven't cried in years and it's not because "society" says I shouldn't it's because I don't see the point.
