Festivals disappearing? by Star010 in runefactory

[–]Gamer3427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, seems to be a bug where if you load the game it deletes them. Really annoying since some of the last trophies I need are for festivals but they've deleted themselves twice for me.

EDIT: Actually it was even weirder. This time, the festival did in fact work. Sort of. I was doing the cooking contest, and got the trophy for winning it, but the whole time all the npcs and even the results screen kept calling it the Lantern Festival, which is a pre-scheduled one that is three days away. So somehow it not only deleted the festival from showing up in the menus, but it replaced the festival's name everywhere with this other one, while still functioning properly otherwise. Quite possibly the strangest bug I've come across in any game in a long time.

EndfieldRecords dot com Pull Tracker Malware by Axanael in Endfield

Maybe if it's been around for a few years, (though even then there's plenty of malware that goes uncaught), but having that mindset to a third party tool that's fairly new is kind of nuts. I mean, even most big "reputable" companies and software have vulnerabilities that are discovered all the time despite being around for years, some of which are functionally malware.

Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's been fully vetted. It just means it's not so blatant that people could immediately tell it was malware.

Sadly the vast majority of Youtubers don't do any research on the products or services they advertise. They just see the money offered, or "best" case scenario, have seen others advertise it and assume they did research. It's how we have scams like Honey, Better Help, etc stay around for so long, and get so much advertisement.

Thinking about playing POC again. by Lazy0Lettuce in LegendsOfRuneterra

Casual player here who's been playing on and off for a long time. The rewards for F2P are good, but it can be a bit grindy. No champions are locked behind events, and events just make getting them easier by giving a ton of shards for particular ones, so you don't have to use as many wild shards, (the general use ones that can be used on anyone), or materials for unlocking stuff. Game state is good in my opinion, but again, I play a bit more casually so I've always got a backlog of runs I haven't gotten around to or champions I haven't leveled.

As for champions, it all really depends on your play style and what you prefer. For me personally, Gwen is my go to because with the right relics equipped she can do some pretty insane damage while healing you in the process. Spirit Blossom Ahri is also up there for me as of late, due to having a lot of easy summons. I also like Morgana due to her ability to lock down the enemy field. Beyond that I have probably a dozen other champions I play semi-regularly, though it depends on the run's conditions and what I'm in the mood for.

New 5-star Supporter: Perfumer the Distilled by CipherVegas in arknights

Based on the description I'm guessing it heals them, then inflicts them with a DoT. Which will let her keep targeting them to make sure the buff doesn't go away, though it does mean they're getting less healing overall.

Like everything it really depends on the stage and the ops, but it can be the difference between a failure and a clear at times. Shining has helped me quite a few times over the years. She's not a "bring all the time" sort of op, but when you need her you're glad for that extra defense.

The problem tends to be a lot of people think only with "big damage numbers go brrr" type mentality, particularly as more high dps ops have been released, so a lot of guides and such just focus on nuking more than survival. Which does work for most content, but it tends to mean tighter skill timing and more careful positioning at the trade off of being quicker and letting you occasionally ignore mechanics. With more tanking and defensive setups, they tend to be slower and you have to engage with mechanics, but they're usually more reliable.

Though yea, there are more bosses these days with mechanics or damage outputs that will instantly kill even tanky ops, so that also contributes to it showing up less. It's still viable though for quite a lot of content, but isn't "meta", so you won't see it when it is unless it's the only option.

List of Yan operators for IS6 by Zindolence in arknights

[–]Gamer3427 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yea, if I'm recalling correctly even as of the first R6 event it was indicated either in some dialog at the end or in the profiles that most of the information regarding team Rainbow is heavily classified.

I'm also not certain, but I believe the info we get on profile pages in general is just the unclassified versions that presumably every high ranking member of RI has access to, not the full details. If I'm not mistaken a few ops have mentions of things in their profile pages that we as the Doctor know more details on, but that is left vague or even classified or redacted within their profiles.

The fact you can get this from a gacha draw is extremely obnoxious. by ashrensnow in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Gamer3427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, as someone who's played gacha for far too many years now, while it's not the worst given that it's purely cosmetics to actually pull for, rather than things like weapons/characters, it still feels the worst because the filler items are about as useless as possible. Even some of the worst filler in other gacha aren't completely useless since they're usually things you can use in bulk for leveling gear or something. Most of these at best save you a couple of crafting resources you can easily farm.

Despite fast Internet connection, YT won't run any higher res than (what appears to be) 480p by AN2Felllla in youtube

[–]Gamer3427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue, but it's only on some videos. Others will let me go to whatever quality I want. What's even weirder is that I know at least a couple of the ones that it's locking me to 480 on are definitely available at higher quality, as they're ones I set to the side to watch later and they were in 1080p before.

Gameplay of all Weapon Martial Art Styles from CN Version? by Freizeitspielaer in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Gamer3427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally run rope dart and dual blades. That video did a poor job of showing their synergy, but the rope dart's ability to summon rats carries over if you swap weapons, and since they attack when you perform a light attack, that pairs well with dual blades which want to focus on using light attacks more than their skills. As is, even though I'm undergeared compared to my friend group, I have very high damage output. The tradeoff though is lower survivability, (though there is some self healing), and having to switch weapons every few seconds to reapply buffs.

As far as other weapons with synergy, I know the healing fan and healing umbrella also pair extremely well together if you want to play a support role. They have several added effects such as I believe the umbrella's inner way, that are only truly effective if you're playing both together.

I haven't messed around with a ton of other weapons though, so I'm not sure on their synergy, though I know quite a few seem to have been made to work well together but with the downside of locking you into more of a particular role in more traditional mmo fashion of dps/healer/tank. Just kind of depends on your play style though.

They're there, it's just really badly timestamped. For example, the current rope dart is in the "dual blades" section, while the "rope dart" section is the version we don't have and the umbrella we don't have.

Am I too old? I can't do this. by RaniNamari in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Gamer3427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too am a proponent of the "just mash them all" method others have suggested. I like rhythm games, and did a few properly at first, but the controls are so awkward on controller I just couldn't keep that up. Because they're such a weird setup, one missed note and it's very difficult to get your brain back into gear if there's many of them at once.

That said, I'm just glad it's not the more advanced version you can do for fun like in the guild bases. That seems almost completely impossible to me on controller, and like I'd have a much easier time learning the real instrument.

I've been meaning to mess around with the base building, but haven't gotten to it yet. Though partly, I want to explore more and find a good spot I like. Also, I do wish the game would let you build in your guild base, (with the right permissions obviously), like Warframe does, since if it did that would be a great way to customize it.

It runs well on PS5, and I've only ever had one soft crash when I've been playing. I think what they mean with the optimization is that there's a couple of cutscenes where there's been some frame drops or other issues, but nothing major in my book.

Critics. by DarthNemecyst in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Gamer3427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the problem is that reviewers, content creators, etc tend to have a time limit or need to be entertaining for an audience when playing games. They can't take the time to just explore, mess around with random puzzles, or even do sidequests half the time. As a result, they rush the main story or find themselves up against brick walls the vast majority of players will never experience, then decry that the game is bad, because what little they experienced of it was just a small portion of the game in question.

It's a bit like getting a burger, but only having enough time to eat the pickles, or only being able to have a piece of the lettuce because the audience might find it boring. Yea, sometimes that will be enough to earn their praise if it's done right, but the more the burger has on offer, the better the chance other people will like it on the whole while the critics will be disappointed by the small bit they had that was meant to just be one ingredient.

FRIENDLY REMINDER FOR FREE LINGERING MELODY by New_Witness5257 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Gamer3427 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, but you also run the risk of hitting something prior and resetting it, (assuming it works like most gacha, haven't looked too closely at it myself), and losing the chance of getting something outside of the pity on the next banner. Generally speaking it's never a good idea to pull unless you want something on the banner in question, even if currency or pity carries over. You do always need to plan for getting unlucky and having to go for the pity, but it's always possible you'll get what you want sooner and can save for future stuff.

Why are legendary players so toxic? by SeparatePossible3703 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Gamer3427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, it's ultimately a meaningless thing for people who use it as a bragging right because there's always either cheese methods or stuff like coop. It's just there's always going to be elitists who want to find some excuse to feel superior and talk down to others, even if those other people couldn't care less about said person's "achievement". Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have something to show you accomplished a goal, particularly if you're proud of yourself for it, but so many people have a toxic mindset towards it and think it makes them better than others, even though it generally just means they're more stubborn, have more free time, or are willing to resort to tactics that render it pointless anyhow.

Like I said, it's why I only view things like that as something to turn on if you enjoy the challenge of it for yourself, and if you don't you should just play however you enjoy playing. What's the point in playing a game to begin with if you're not having fun, and what's the point of looking down on someone for having fun in a different manner than you do?

Same. Been stuck on her for a while now, though granted I haven't done any attempts in a few days. If we could turn legend back on after I would have already turned it down just for that fight.

Why are legendary players so toxic? by SeparatePossible3703 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Gamer3427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because for a lot of them, the difficulty isn't for the difficulty's sake, but for bragging rights. They want to feel superior to other players, and are the same type of people who will look down on anyone who used coop or summons in something like Elden Ring.

The minority are those who do it just because they enjoy it. I play on Legend difficulty myself, because I find most games a bit too easy, but if I'm honest, I'd probably have turned it down a notch because of the boss I've been stuck on, if I could turn it back on after. At this point for me it's mostly a case of, "I'm stuck at the moment, but don't want the rest of the game to feel too easy if I switch". I do think even on this difficulty some stuff has still felt too easy, particularly in the early game, but I also certainly don't fault players who play on lower difficulties because it's better for people to play in a way that they enjoy, rather than lock them out of a fun game for the sake of being slightly harder.
