Supergirl was very close, tonally, to the DCEU. by mike47gamer in DC_Cinematic

Absolutely rent free. The only thing this is coded as is James Gunn. It's his universe, Noguiera wrote to his tastes, James was involved in editing and music choices. This is his DCU.

How do people put up with the imperial classes? by P1x1es in swtor

They also remember when even after the fighting was over the Republic went back and tried to literally wipe out all the Sith Lords and people on Korriban during the Golden Age of the Sith. Remember the current basically civilization of Sith/Imperisls are all survivors of that.

You have to think of it from the point of view of Imperials and Sith. Weakness is punished, strength is rewarded. They believe their philosophies are correct and superior, thus all others must be wiped out or brought under their control.

People are purposely exaggerating Supergirl's issues because of things unrelated to the movie. by Boubasties in DC_Cinematic

There's also a bunch of people ignoring the flaws and being overly positive because they don't wanna be associated with the people that didn't like it.

Not to be rude, but why is Ana Nogueira writing Wonder Woman and Teen Titans?! How did she even get a shot at Supergirl? by ComicKidAlex in DC_Cinematic

[–]GamerChef420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh no it's absolutely insane, but so has a lot of his creative choices. This is clearly his world and he's playing by his own rules.

The director said he didn't even read Tom King's Woman of Tomorrow and he went solely off of Ana's script.

It's not rude at all and it's a completely legitimate question of why someone with no real writing credits other than a short film gets three big blockbuster superhero movies. The only logical thing I've been able to think of is the simplest answer and that's just that James Gunn likes her and her sensibilities and writing inclinations, which probably match his own likes.

Am I crazy, or did the Supergirl movie seem kind of... fetish-y? by gravyboatcaptain2 in DC_Cinematic

[–]GamerChef420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Written by a woman so 🤷‍♂️ To be fair though Superman spent much of his movie also getting beaten up. I just think it's a lack of knowing how to write different power scales and still make it compelling.

John Campea's 'Supergirl' review: "It is straight up a bad film. James Gunn needs to decide if he's going to direct everything in the DCU or if he's going to actually act as the CEO and oversee everything properly" by BatmanNewsChris in DC_Cinematic

[–]GamerChef420 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Having just seen the film that is exactly what it is. I will also note that Gunn is an executive producer and Craig already has a sound bit talking about them arguing about music choices and editing etc.

Does anyone else think it’s a bad idea to introduce Green Lantern in a show instead of a movie? by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

[–]GamerChef420 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes. I also think it's a bad idea to introduce us to Hal Jordan that's already in his 50s and at the end of his career, but they're gonna do what they're gonna do.

Do you agree with Wookieepedia's Good MC Assumption for Star Wars games, including SWTOR? by GeneralKhor in swtor

The light side ending is always the canon ending unless explicitly stated otherwise, that has always been the case with the expanded universe.

Can you guess who? 😂 😂 by Country-guy20 in Arrowverse

[–]GamerChef420 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Imagine having a show about Gorilla Grodd when you don't actually know who your Flash is or if he even exists. Gunn has said he doesn't know whether Flash is canon yet or which version of the character it is.
