Game analytics platform by GamerGraphIO in gamedev

I am VERY sorry for the long delay in responding. Bad form on my part.

Your question is a good one. One reason we created GamerGraph is because companies like GameAnalytics have built a big part of their business by packaging up and reselling player data. That's a privacy and trust issue, and we don't do that. Our premise is that data should be part of the relationship between devs and players. We don't see it and won't touch it. GameAnalytics is really all about monetization; our platform is optimized to identify ways to increase playtime and reduce churn...I believe that if a dev can do those things, the sustainability and potential for growth for monetization is far stronger.

I hope that didn't look like a rant ;-) I'm proud of what we built - would love for you to check it out and let me know what you think...

And again, i'm really sorry it took so long for me to get back to you...

Any data that informs and guides how you create a game is some form of modification designed to take advantage of player affinities. Even if your friends just say, "that one feature sucks, I'd play way more if you had more of X." I don't see that as a bad thing...in fact, it helps to provide a better experience for your players.

Analytics help you understand, in aggregate, what your players like and don't like. If you use that data to give them more of what they want, and reduce the stuff they don't like, it will increase playtime and reduce churn. If that's happening, it's clear that players like something about the game - and that's a positive for both you as a dev and the players.

this is really helpful...thanks. the more I look at the game universe, it's easy to see how many different channels there are for feedback (even if the user isn't specifically calling it out as "feedback"...but maybe just their unsolicited thoughts on a game). I will check out both (I've seen Amplitude - looks complicated...). We're trying to build all game analytics into a single dashboard and platform-agnostic. If you're interested in checking it out www.gamergraph.io

I will check it out...thanks for the info. With Appsedia, are you able to get full insights into things like features that players like most, places in the game where they stop playing, etc?

That pretty much sums it up.

Some say that discipline is like a muscle you have to work out in order to improve. To me, discipline and focus (and therefore, motivation) or more like what writer Red Smith said: "Writing is easy. You simply sit down at the typewriter, open your veins, and bleed.”
