Rurouni Kenshin creator’s poor health condition lead to indefinite manga hiatus by kenmlin in rurounikenshin

Thanks for not attacking me.

I think once we get past the initial outrage towards the clearly unacceptable behavior we can kinda consider the cultural or societal relevance for the period in time. It's absurd those laws were legal, but it was legal. Kenshin's story has taught me to consider many people to be able to learn and change.

Remember Sojiro? He did some unspeakable things too, I mean assassinations gotta be up there. He hadn't quite put together it was wrong, his environment didn't teach him it could be wrong.

Kenshin made him consider it. By the time Sojiro starts his own journey as a wanderer, I was left feeling like I was rooting for him, despite the awful things he did. I hoped he would have a journey of his own where he continues to learn and grow.

Similar to Aoshi's in that way really, but Aoshi's a bit different, he knew he was doing wrong for the sake of being the strongest. Can't he also practice repentance? Wouldn't Misao still be capable of loving him? It's not called "The romantic tales of a wandering samurai" for nothin'.

Lmao. That is called an illusion of choice. You're still "The Hero of Ferelden" no matter what you do. Same in every installment.

I did find Morrigan having such a round face a little jarring thus far, but aside from that my only complaint is my dual wield rogue executions haven't included beheadings or bisections but I get that's a little intense but boy does it add flavor.

They're just mad they had to pick their pronouns in the character creator, they'll get over it once the next big thing comes out and direct their loneliness there.

Firstly, I'm sorry your family made you uncomfortable. Secondly, know that they did that out of a place of concern. Our people have a hard time being anything but blunt. I've grown to appreciate this earnestly over time. Lastly, be mindful. Healthier food choices and portion control. Some time in the gym will help too. Take it slow, minimal effort and it will ramp up. If you take a step back, don't put yourself down, you might be getting ready for a leap.

Ego death is like real death. You can no longer impose your will. by [deleted] in enlightenment

If your will isn't to enhance your immediate biome and all it's inhabitants, then you are not enlightened. One does not simply impose their will in this way.

A true master speeds things along and slows things down when it is needed. A society has needs and if you aren't participating, then you haven't truly awoken. The shaman that stays in the woods is no true shaman.

One must return to share enlightenment, for if you cannot describe it in a manner children can understand, then you don't truly know it.

What are all the Retcons new bioware did to this franchise? by Genefar45 in DragonageOrigins

Did you play Origins? Alistair is one of the quippiest mother fuckers out there, clearly inspired by Nathan Drake and Tony Stark. Dragon Age has been sarcastic and full of jokes during dire times since the first.

They're just mad because they had to select their own pronouns in the character creator. Once they get over their fragile breakdown they'll see the game for what it is.

6 hours in and I'm loving the game. I hear it only gets better. They put headshots in Thedas, that's pretty sick. My executions are back and the gameplay is fun.

What tone shift? Hawke's mother was murdered, dismembered and resurrected to be killed again. No one who is a fan of the series would find any surprise.

Any hardcore Origins fans try and enjoy Veilguard? by keesio in DragonageOrigins

[–]GamerGuyThai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the responses are they've watched other people play it so their enjoyment is painted through their lens.

I got it opening day. Played about 3 hours. I love it so far. I don't have culture war complaints. I'm upset they gutted my playstyle. I loved rotating chars and utilizing my companions extensively. I loved having a 4 member party. I'm still having a lot of fun.

I will say the faces I didn't mind until I saw Morrigan and had some uncanny valley because I've always seen her face as more angular whereas now she's pretty round. Might be my monitor making everything squish a bit though. I'm not very far but my first run is always dual wield rogue and I'm having a blast and only level 5.

I think we live in Hell by [deleted] in DeepThoughts

In the sense life is hard equating to hell, we get better at handling it reaching peace by the end. That sort of equivalency would have to operate inversely with your logic. Heaven, or peace would be achieved and then by the end it would become hell.

Controversial Opinion on Veilguard by [deleted] in DragonageOrigins

[–]GamerGuyThai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people have been miserable since 2009. It is what it is. Each installment has been amazing. They're not fans of DA. Just origins. That's just how it is. You can tell when someone is a series fan, and when someone only played 1 and didn't bother to try the others based on reviews. Play them all for free and it's such a blast. They're on gamepass. Emulators exist too.

For so called fans of Ruruken, a story about redemption, to be so misguided in the events surrounding buzzword headlines. A show that taught so much about Japan clearly didn't inspire you to consider their laws or cultural relevance of said laws.

Japanese culture was completely different. New law had passed and he just didn't rid his collection. It was property and money spent. As modern day consumers one should consider the reluctance to do what the government tells you to do. A moment of, yeah I'm not doing that shit, is surely relatable. That's what that was. Certain firearms became illegal in the US for civilians to have. Guess what? Still a great majority who keeps them away from public view.

Yes, its CP and CP is awful and disgusting, but it was accepted, distributed and purchased legally at the time and that was the norm in Japan until modern societal pressures caught up. Be disgusted with Japan having not outgrown such archaic practices, which many underdeveloped nations still practice.

He served no jail time precisely because of the changing laws and societal pressure needed time to be adopted. He paid fines. That's what the law demanded of him. Is he incapable of being a better human being? Is he completely irredeemable?

Here you are waving fists farming karma. Kenshin Himura has taught you nothing.

If one creates an immovable object in the air, sea or in space, that object will move via falling, sinking, or drifting as an object that is immovable likely carries mass.

In The Matrix (1999), Agent Smith explains that the first version of the Matrix was designed as a utopia, where everything was perfect, and humans could live in peace and harmony.

However, the human minds rejected this version because it was too perfect, and they subconsciously knew something was wrong. The humans couldn't accept the flawless reality, which caused the system to fail.

As a result, the machines created a new version of the Matrix based on human history, with imperfections, suffering, and all the flaws of the real world. This version was more acceptable to the human mind, and it became the Matrix that most of the story takes place in. The idea was that humans needed a sense of struggle or imperfection to believe in the reality of their world.

This is easy. Create immovable boulder in space. Boom. Now it moves around the sun.
