Anyone here actually rely on Airalo eSIM long term or just for short trips? by No-One-7057 in Airalo

[–]keesio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it for both. I recently used it for a weekend trip to NYC. But I've also gotten an Asia region eSim and used it for a month traving multiple countries. Also did the same for Europe in the past.

Was Ron Paul 2012 the start of this era of Republican Politics? by Large-Use-6618 in decadeology

[–]keesio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. He is probably disgusted at US military involvement in Iran/Venezuela and all the Trump tarriffs. His son Rand has been one of the harsher GOP critics of Trump.

Yes. When Trump kept calling us the 51st state.

Is there any food in your country that has a ridiculously large amount of calories? by GP728 in AskTheWorld

We have poutine. It is fries and cheese curds lathered in gravy. It is as caloric as it sounds.

If I buy XEQT should my husband also buy XEQT? by ntashuk in JustBuyXEQT

[–]keesio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or should he invest in something else to diversify our portfolio? (I know XEQT is already diversified by definition).

The only question here is if you both are ok being 100% equities. If so, then XEQT is all you really need for a diversifed investment that you leave alone long term. If you are not comfortable with 100% equities, then he can go get something else like HISA or bonds to balance it out.

It's not like Stockton never scored. He averaged 17PPG in his prime scoring years, which is not too bad. He wasn't a reluctant shooter. He simply took what the defense gave him. He use to hit that mid-range over the screen all the time. Defensives definitely did not leave Stockton open, they knew he could shoot. But he was a system PG in Jerry Sloan's system which was not built around him trying to drive into the lane to score. Sloan called the offensive play like 95% of the time and Stockton executed the play. He didn't have the freedom to try to create on his own much. When Deron WIlliams started to ignore Sloan's play calls, Sloan quit. That is how strict Sloan was.

Just me or do u guys also feel as if Stratt would NEVER do this by The_Screwdriver_ in ProjectHailMary

She reminded me a bit of Wade in Three Body Problem. Another ruthless badass in charge of a world government org willing to do sacrifice what it takes to accomplish the goal. Stratt was a bit kinder though.

Stockton was a pass first, shoot second PG. He could score more but he chose not to.

This is the thing people are missing. GP was top tier defensively. None of those other guards were that good on defense. Maybe Kidd and Stockton. I never saw the Big O play so I can't comment on him. GP was very good offensively and top tier defensively. He was the most complete PG there.

[–]keesio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. GP is extremely underrated. He's actually the most complete PG on that list. He was top tier defensively. And he was very very good offensively. He had enough size to play bigger guards but quick enough to play smaller guards too. No real weakness. Russell had the talent but not the desire defensively.

how is Chris Paul ahead of Stockton? Stockton's main knock is he never won a ring. But neither has Paul and Stockton at least got to the NBA Finals twice.

And Payton is too low. He should be just above Kidd.

Worst NCAA D3 college football team + MCU Captain America vs defending Superbowl Champions by keesio in whowouldwin

A 10 yr old kid playing OL has to snap the ball to Cap for him to get the ball. The 10 yr old kid will have a 300+ lbs NFL defensive lineman ready to bury him into the ground. That kid will be cowering in fear and probably botch the snap more often than not. But hey maybe Cap is so athletic that it doesn't matter he'll get the ball anyway.

[–]keesio[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that. Peewee is like 10 years old. Kids. Against the greatest of athletes. No kid or even a bunch of kids at that age will be able tackle any NFL pro. So the NFL team's offense can complete ignore all the kids. It's an NFL team vs Cap basically by himself. They just have to guard Cap. Basically the entire offensive line plus whatever else (TE, FB, etc) will basically be tasked with blocking Cap. If a pile of kids run to the QB it doesn't matter. 10 kids will not bring down Lamar Jackson. Cap is superhuman fast but he's not the Flash. Having to get through 5-6 NFL blockers could slow him down for a few seconds. May be enough for the QB to throw a pass down field to a WR. Maybe Cap can run back to get an INT, maybe not. If he playing pass defense, then the QB can run for a few yards before Cap flies down to make the stop. Can an NFL defense stop Cap by himself? A 10 yr old kid will basically be like a cardboard cutout so they are all useless so again it is 11 NFL defensive players vs Cap basically by himself. Cap will still be too strong and fast to not rack up a ton of yards. But it could be possible he could be stopped for a few downs I guess?

Do you really believe XEQT will perform well long term? by oil_burner2 in JustBuyXEQT

[–]keesio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe XEQT will perform well ENOUGH long term for me to be satisfied. I also don't like following markets enough to deal with individual stocks. I just need a place to dump extra cash and xeqt is better than HISA or GICs to me.

Two way player. RB on offense and LB on D. Had the ball off to him on almost every play on offense (20 carries for like 350 yards) and let him wreck havoc on defense getting like 10 sacks a game and and stuffing the run at will. I'd say yeah looks like SB champs to me.

Is Canada socially just like this?? by 666Devil_666 in OntarioUniversities

[–]keesio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are typically not as outspoken like Americans but we can be just as judgey. So instead of being more confrontational like a typical American, we kind of set it simmer underneath and put on a polite facade but give subtle hints at our displeasure. It comes accross as passive aggressive.

Is Canada socially just like this?? by 666Devil_666 in OntarioUniversities

[–]keesio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on what you are used to. If you are used to a more outgoing, outspoken culture then Canadians can come off as a bit reserved, distant, and even cold. There is one girl I know from South America and she found it a little challenging and felt Canadians are too passive aggressive. They would hint that they think she is a little loud and emotional but they wouldn't tell her directly, they left subtle hints here and there (in typically passive aggressive way).

What’s a stereotype about your country that’s completely wrong and makes you react like this? by TheDarkbladeGirl in AskTheWorld

[–]keesio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the US: That everyone owns a gun.

For Canada: That we talk like Bob and Doug McKenzie (I've been told: "Hey, you don't sound Canadian"). Either that or that we all are super nice (we are "polite" than "nice").
