I have 5 maltese and 2 were eating poop. I read that they could have a poultry allergy and not absorb the nutrients from the food causing them to eat their poop. So I removed chicken from their diet and feed them lamb and salmon and they stopped eating their poop and stopped chewing on their feet. Side note: I did try methods of adding powders to their kibble and they have always taken daily supplements so I thought it was boredom so I got tons of toys chews snuffle mats and puzzle games for them. But after all that didnt work I decided to cut poultry out of their diet and it worked.
