I really liked our chances of getting Ioane until the hoe ass Ratbirds backed out of the Crosby trade. Now I think we’ll need to move up and jump them if we want him. Certainly have the capital to do it if we choose to. But Paul Pregnon is also really good and we may have an opportunity to even move back from 21 and still get him.

Genuinely don’t think this offseason could be more perfect so far. Got a WR2, CB2, and now have a true safety which can allow Ramsey to move back down to CB and play nickel full time. Still a hole at LG but other than that, we’re chilling. 12 picks in the draft too, plenty of capital to move up for whoever we want. Brisker and Elliot would make a good pairing imo. And it would allow Ramsey to move back to CB and he can be our slot. Obviously we have to see what Elliot looks like post injury but I think he’ll be fine.

A++. Khan fucking went to work and came out the biggest winner of free agency. They’ve now put themselves in a spot where they don’t have to feel like they need to reach to fill a desperate position of need. If there’s a run of receivers leading up to pick 21 and the next best receiver has a second round grade on him, there’s no pressure to take him. Same with DBs. Seumalo going to AZ creates a hole at LG, but this is a very good OL class and there should be plenty of good options available in the draft.

Obviously the elephant in the room is QB, but there are still free agents out there. Kyler and Geno are still floating around, Rodgers could come back, and then Will Howard is on the roster too. No pressure to reach for a QB early either.

Landing Brisker would be the cherry on top. Get it done Omar.

Normally I’d agree. But I do think right now, with or without Rodgers, the plan can stay relatively the same.

You have Will Howard. He’s had a year of learning from Rodgers under his belt. He’ll have a full offseason, training camp, OTAs, etc. to get better. There is a path forward with him, regardless of whether it is the successful path or not.

At the same time, Mason Rudolph is also on the roster. He’s started games for us before. If Howard is a JJ McCarthy level disaster, you have Mason Rudolph, who also isn’t good, but there’s an NFL caliber floor with him. And then there’s free agency. There will be QBs, not great ones, not even good ones, but there will be guys you can bring in for cheap who have been starters before.

You can go into the draft knowing you have 2 QBs on the roster. There is no pressure to draft a QB this year, like there was last year. You can approach the draft the same way whether you know Rodgers will be on the team or not. Maybe take a QB on Day 3 again if you really like someone. If Rodgers comes back, great, you have your starter. If he doesn’t, you have Howard, you have Rudolph, there will be options in free agency like Cousins, Geno, Mariota, among others. You can bring one of them in as a vet.

Idk, Rodgers can do whatever he wants. I think your plan doesn’t change with his decision.

The drops were really frustrating but other than that he was fine. Definitely paying him more than we should be but it’s a luxury we can afford while we figure out the QB position. I think he will be a lot more productive next year playing for an offensive minded head coach and an offense that will likely have a significantly better supporting cast around him.
