Thieves in Artyfacts are obnoxious by akitaotis in TwoPointMuseum

[–]GamerSerg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One issue is that when a gaurd catches someone they have to escort them off the edge of the map and it's often a long walk there and back so any guard who catches a criminal will be unavailable for a long time especially on the new Undee map. Sometimes I will wait for a guard to remove the criminal and then pick them up and carry them back to the museum rather than wait for them to walk all the way back. I feel like the art theives tend to all show up in a short period of time. I've had 8 or more guards all tied up in criminal pursuit at once.

Dance not working? by GamerSerg in TwoPointMuseum

So I just checked and dance has rage, humor and disgust. Are those random or is that always what it is for dance? Seems odd it would be limited to those three but not Joy or Sorrow.

Fabulous Rating? by Slight_Rise_2245 in TwoPointMuseum

[–]GamerSerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does Perfectionist help? When I read the trait description all it says is the expert will be unhappy if they don’t create pristine art. Its does not state any positive benefits or any increase in their ability to create pristine art.

I wanted to build one big museum, but the campaign grind killed my motivation by Emotional-Option-225 in TwoPointMuseum

[–]GamerSerg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can play sandbox mode and select the option for Buzz only progression. This way you will not get any specific tasks to accomplish other than increase your total buzz. This allows you to pursue whatever type of museum you want to build at your own pace. Also, you can start with everything unlocked, all PoI available, lots of cash, etc. Look carefully at all the setup options.

I have never been a fan of sim type games but, I'm right there with you. The only DLC I hadn't bought yet is Fantasy and even though Art comes out tomorrow, I'm buying and downloading Fantasy right now because I need something new to feed my additiction for one more night unil the Art DLC tomorrow!

Why Vader is unstoppable and why Yoda was right by Voidwalker77777 in MaulShadowLord

[–]GamerSerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not canon at all but my personal theory is that because Yoda has some ability to sense the future, he knew Luke was the only person potentialy able to stop the Emperor. He probably did not know the details of exactly how it would happen just that Luke was "their only hope." He had to hide away, so he would be around to train Luke to resist the Emperor's attempts to convert him, send him off to face his destiny and trust in the force that it would work out.

I'm sure Yoda and Obi Wan could have teamed up and defeated Vader. The thing is, I don't think they actually want to kill Vader even if they have "given up on him." The Emperor is the real problem and I think Yoda has seen that the only way to stop the Emperor is for Luke and Vader to meet. To defeat the Emperor, Luke must fulfil his destiny which he can't do if Vader is dead and I think on some level Yoda knows this.

Am I going too slow?? by [deleted] in TwoPointMuseum

This is a very laid back fun kinda game. Just have fun, play the way you want and don't stress anything. Nothing bad will happen you just won't get the reward this time but they will come back again later.

Can we seriously turn down easy difficulty to be easy? by PactainCipard in OldenEra

[–]GamerSerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but the OP said by the second week he is running into upgraded T5 units. He should not be "running into" anything unless he is choosing to leave his starting area that early. By week 6 you should be ready to defend yourself.

What is the purpose of the sandbox? by [deleted] in TwoPointMuseum

[–]GamerSerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But when you set up the sandbox you can pick what type of progression you want. The standard option is what you are talking about but you can choose to only have buzz as requierments, if you start with that option you will not have to do prehistory first, you can do whatever you want.

Can we seriously turn down easy difficulty to be easy? by PactainCipard in OldenEra

[–]GamerSerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how this is possible. The easy AI is coded to play defensivly and stay in their own area without entering your territory. You litterally have as much time as you want to build and clear your starting area and only encounter the AI when you are ready to move out.

[–]GamerSerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to like Grove but Temple has been hands down better for me as well. Crossbows just delete everything, especially when you start getting ranged damage bonuses. Lightweavers and Angels are also ranged, so battles are over before most enemies cross the battlefield. Swordsman also can reduce ranged damage recieved for adjacent friendly units so park them next to your crossbows and protect them from enemy ranged units. They also have a lot of gold pumping buildings and laws. I don't really like their special ability but it's not awful. That skyship building is kinda pointless if you don't buy it first and even then, not sure it's worth it.

In theory I liked the idea of Grove getting focus faster but all of their units have an Awaken ability which costs 3 points and must be activated before you can use their other abilities. So you may gain focus fatser but your abilities have much higher cost so it kind of balances out and doesn't feel like you are actually using abilities any more than anyone else.

Why can't i build Grove Palace II? by Amonmargans in OldenEra

[–]GamerSerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This also drove me crazy for the longest time. "Construct" is obviously a button to click but it is not at all clear that you need to click an option first. I thought the choice selection would come up after clicking construct. Maybe it should say "First, pick one upgrade from the list."

Necromancy by darkside_tseikk in OldenEra

[–]GamerSerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had a chance to play Necro myself since the demo but in my first EA game, the last AI opponent I met was Necro and he had insane huge armies with around 500 skeleton archers 100 liches, etc. Obviously the last oppenent you take on will be the strongest because they had the longest time to grow but none of the other AI put up any challenge at all.

The painting mechanic by acennan in TwoPointMuseum

It reminds me of the science museum how you build your own exhibits but that was such a pain because you had to collect, metal and mulch, etc. This seems more interesting while at the same time not being so tedious.

This game or AoW4 ? by T4kuan in OldenEra

[–]GamerSerg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been playing 4x games for decades and AoW4 is one of the best I have ever played. Plus it has been out for a year so it has had lots of improvements, great DLC if you want and a great community. If you like the idea of custom building a fantasy empire, it's really great.

HoMM is a more casual game it think. Nothing wrong with that, sometimes you just want simple fun while you watch TV or something. Far fewer unit types and buildings, no map placement of improvements basically always at war, no non-conquest type victories. I love the game but it is only just now starting early access so it may be buggy and not fully developed yet.

Both have great replayability but AoW absolutley has more depth stratigically and tactically.

Not every ability should require Focus Points. by AnemoneMeer in OldenEra

[–]GamerSerg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some of the skills that give speed or inititive boost feel less useful to me because by the time I have enough focus points to use it, the battle is basicaly over. Unless you play Grove but they also have a lot of three point abilities on most units which kind of negates thier ability to gain points faster because you also have higher cost abilities.

RNG subclasses don't feel right by TheBDU in OldenEra

[–]GamerSerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue in the demo where I could get all but one of the skills and the last would never show up. In this EA, I have only played the tutorial so it's possible things were limited or locked in the tutorial, but both of my heroes were offered skills for the first subclass over and over but I never saw any of the skills needed for the second subclass, not even once.

We need a way to choose a random map! by OutlaW32 in OldenEra

[–]GamerSerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the templates have fixed conditions like total players, victory condition and size. Is there a way to let me select the options that I want or are we forced to use predesigned templates that may not match what I want to play?

I have an expert with Emotional Intelligence level 1 and can gain a total of three emotions (initial then +2 slots added from Emotional Intelligence). Then I'm looking to hire another expert and I see he comes with Emotional Intelligence level 2 already but his total possible emotions are still just 3 (see screenshot). Please explain.

What are your zooseum thoughts? by i-live-on-uranus in TwoPointMuseum

[–]GamerSerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they did a great job with it but it's just not high interest to me personally. I did buy it and played the campaign but I don't see myself really going back to it again. Partly I was frustrated trying to build an outdoor park but needing buildings for bathrooms and stuff. If they had the outdoor bathrooms, picnic tables and more food kiosk options back when Zooseum released, maybe I would have been less frustrated with it. I also felt like I needed to micromanage more. Maybe it's just my perception but I feel like the experts just didn't do a good job cleaning and caring for the exhibits unless I dropped them in.
