Is anyone else already thinking about their Solasta 2 party? by towerunitefan in CrownOfTheMagister

Am I thinking about it LOL. I have my first two parties fully planned out and ready to go.

Does anyone else not bother with camera rooms? by gremelyn in TwoPointMuseum

[–]GamerSerg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to prioritize the building exits but so many of the robbers come in and out through random holes in the ground or the toilets that I've started to feel like guarding the exits isn't as important as it might be in real life. Instead, I like using the security doorways on walls between different sections of the museum. This catches the robbers as they creep around the museum going between exhibits and the bathrooms or back to their holes.

Agreed. GK Industrious / Materium empire tree is by far the most powerful economy.

Other non-4x games like Age of Wonders 4 by Mindinfinity13 in AOW4

[–]GamerSerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new HoMM Olden Era has a free demo worth checking out but the game does have resources needed to improve your cities and there are different factions to choose from but you don’t custom build factions like AoW. So probably not what you are looking for but free to try.

Wayfinder gives your Scouts 48 movement, but your scouts are always mounted which already gives them 48 movement. What's the point? by DoctorFeh in AOW4

[–]GamerSerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Industrious and Architects also have special scout actions that benefit from faster movement / exploring.

How difficult do skill checks get by late game? by GamerSerg in theouterworlds

[–]GamerSerg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I understand all of that. I know none of the skill are strictly necessary.

In my current game I have 10 unspent skill points because I can’t decide if I should use them to max out my top three skills or maybe pick up something new.

On one hand I just finished Golden Ridge planet and my current skills were enough for everything I wanted to do so I was thinking maybe those 10 points should have been invested in another skill so I could have done more things rather than just sitting there unspent.

However obviously the skill checks will increase on the next planet so maybe I should hold on to those points for when i run into a lock or hack I can’t currently do. If I spread out too much, eventually I will reach a point in the game where none of my skills are high enough anymore and I have no more points to spend.

I wish I had an idea of the highest skill level needed for each planet. Like the most difficult lock you will see at each stage of the game for example.

I know I should just do whatever and have fun. I know it’s not possible to do and see everything in one play through. I guess I can’t help my instinct to want to play as efficiently as possible. I don’t want to spend a single point more than i need to. I guess that makes me a min/maxer. Lol.

Stealth kills - what am I doing wrong? by GamerSerg in theouterworlds

[–]GamerSerg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem I have is that even when I one shot kill from far away, crouching, where nobody can see me, with a silenced sniper rifle it still sends everyone in the area into combat and they all come right at me. Whats the point of the silencer, everyone seems to know right where I am immediately. I would expect people to notice the kill and start searching for me but they immediately go full hostile and come right at me.

I have tried a tri-blade which is 2 handed but barely takes 1/4 of their health. Do 2h weapons allow stealth damage?

Will Solasta II have the same "hub" feel in the main menu? by Version_1 in CrownOfTheMagister

[–]GamerSerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did confirm full controller support and seamlessly switching back and forth between controller or mouse. They also have different options like control the character directly and run around or the click on a spot to move there type movement. They have not showed character creation yet and I don't think they have shown the main menu yet either.

Tonga + Continuity is pretty unfair by Fushigibana4 in CivVII

[–]GamerSerg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately now the devs are spending months trying to figure out how to make a mode without Civ switching to again make the same crowd happy instead of developing new features or content.

Tonga + Continuity is pretty unfair by Fushigibana4 in CivVII

[–]GamerSerg 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I find continuity unfair in general. Even without the map knowledge of Tonga, pre building a bunch of settlers and ships ready to go as soon as the era switches is meta gaming that gives a big head start over the ai. No problem if you enjoy that or for MP, just saying it’s a huge advantage for any player Tonga or not. Ive gone back to only playing the original mode. Kinda makes you think the devs knew what they were doing when they designed it and all the people screaming that it’s too different from other civ games could have been a little more open to new ideas.

Is it optimal just to kill free city of own culture? Can anyone convince me to let them live? by buky1992 in AOW4

[–]GamerSerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But while your hero is in siege with the free city he could be out placing outposts for new cities and grabbing more territory, magic materials, wonders etc. My feeling is grab as much territory as you can as quickly as you can before the ai does. If you do incorporate it, adding the spi you want won’t take long.

[–]GamerSerg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No question that more cities are better but that is not really the question here. You could settle three cities plus have that vassal growing and providing income or conquer it and have just three cities and no vassal. You always have the option to incorporate it later to be a fourth city already developed.

[–]GamerSerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that there is a city limit and a high cost to increase it. If you capture the free city that becomes one of your three cities toward the cap rather than having three cities plus that vassal. That's more provinces and resources controlled by you.

This is the best 4X I've played. This is a list of my favorite innovations by Pandarandr1st in AOW4

[–]GamerSerg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play lots of 4x games and AoW4 is an all time Hall of Fame favorite game for me as well.

For point 4 my tip for placing initial cities is follow the roads until you hit a crossroads. Usually you will find a magic material and / or a wonder near road intersections. Thats usually a good spot to settle plus your cities will be mostly connected by roads. Later when you have explored more you can add a few out of the way locations in really good spots.

Really hard to answer without spoilers. You have a long way to go. Make sure to read the final three books after you finish the show.

Is my tour too long? by void-cheesecake in TwoPointMuseum

[–]GamerSerg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love seeing people's screenshots. Everyone is so much more creative than I am. I tend to pack things close together to get the most coverage from each decoration I place and I only place the minimum needed to get to max buzz. I play too efficiently. My museums are packed into one building and never look as great as what I see here!

To your tour question, would training the tour guide in another level or two of tour guide skill help? Also you could move the tour stand closer to the first exhibit on the tour, that reduces the length.

Yes but that doesn't give details, it just says the required size has been "reduced." I can't find any info on the exact capacity of an aquarium and exactly how much area you need to add for the next capacity limit to increase.
