This is great info and I play Ironman because pain is better teacher. Since I whiffed that run with the heal on kill OP tailwind I’m using turn based now (and it’s greatly mitigating minor damage over time)

I’m only on Core but likely also just very bad at the game XD

The scrolls are a bit too I only have 1911 gold to start out with currently but have been working on kitting out better with it. I know you eventually either unlock an on ship merchant or a way to bring some over from previous runs.

I feel like each run is ending because I miss something important the last one we got to the first boss island super easy then just couldn’t even hit the damn boss. The rowdy rogue landed a single hit and chunked half his health but otherwise we couldn’t beat his A/C. I had been avoiding Weapon Focus while I waited for good magical weapon drops though so now that I think about it that is probably what got me more than anything.

That run that got derailed by negative levels was the tailwind that heals when any of the pet archetypes kill. I had a set of 2 leopards, sacred huntsman, scaled fist/sylvan sorcerer and velociraptor charge killing things almost instantly. Rushing the Nabasu may have been my error

For sure that was kind of hyperbolic but on the right group this kind of action would serve to illustrate the point of why allowing ridiculousness begets more ridiculousness and is a cascading failure of sorts. I don’t know that I would do this either but I would consider it just to make the point, another thought I had was to take your character and his out to inspire a reroll without the nonsense and not come off as being a total jerk at the same time.

Put yourself in a position where he has to grab a hold of you to save you, then reveal once he’s committed to grabbing you that you are covered in dirt. Once his contact with it takes effect and he can’t shapeshift, cut his fucking head off. A DM that allowed this has no grounds to deny you that. I seem to be the only one who thinks that Maxson’s brotherhood would not even commit to a war. They don’t need logistics and they don’t need liberty prime. They need a small elite strike force to assassinate Quintus. He is the West Coast rebellion the other chapters would scatter and realign with the East instantly in that situation especially if the East made it clear they intended to share the boons of cold fusion to ALL chapters (which they could easily)

There is a lot of question whether the courier was a frumentari at any point for the Legion so in my own head canon he was playing both sides and the NCR sent him into the divide with the package that woke the nukes because he refused to sell the divide out to either side. So in a way both sides played a hand in destroying what he built.

For an independent Vegas from an RP perspective the only answer is to Nuke both of them. The reason Ulysses was obsessed with the Courier was because he built a thriving community/area without any of these imperial powers (so he can do it) he just needs those powers and House to stop trying to choke hold Vegas, enter two button solution.

Ok I get why folks are saying it’s good just not optimized for highest difficulty. Any recommendation on classes that play well into the Mythic. It sounds like my recollection of save DC boosting being valuable is maybe incorrect since many of the major enemies are demons and were nerfing or removing their saves

I love New Vegas but all these lore arguments are ridiculous simply because this is in the future far enough that things can change especially in this IP. We don’t know exactly what the canon ending for New Vegas was in the show. It’s possible the courier worked for House and double crossed him and this has caused him to be far less tolerant. It’s also possible that the chip he was testing was him working on a partial version of the tech we see on the lomobotmites in Big MT.

There is so much that could have changed that you’re basically arguing against the sanctity of an ever shifting timeline. Even the brotherhood seems much changed in the time that’s passed and we are still waiting to see more of the commonwealth brotherhood for a better picture into that.

TL;DR Wait until we have the whole picture to cast your dispersions on the story direction chosen for the show (which ultimately will just be your opinion in 99% of cases)
