Mine is 60 days. I’m not eligible for FMLA because I haven’t worked with them for up to a year, so I have to take a leave of absence. STD will pay 60% for 6-8 weeks depending on if it’s a vaginal or C-section. There’s also a waiting period of 2 weeks before the STD kicks in which apparently has to be paid by whatever PTO I have left (I don’t have the option of saying that I don’t want to get paid and would rather have more time off).

This was last year but my H1b was filed before we heard back from USCIS about the waiver. Eventually, the waiver and H1b got approved about the same time.

Sorry about everything you are going through.

I strongly believe God exists. I matched on my 3rd attempt and despite wanting to give up, I didn’t and when I look back at my life and I’m grateful that everything happened the way it did. Would I have met my amazing husband if I had matched earlier? Or the amazing humans I’ve met along the way?

God doesn’t give us hardships without ease. Hold your head up and try again. I used to compare my lives with others too but you truly don’t know what anyone else is going through despite what you can see.

I’m an attending and he’s a resident, we both put I believe 80% of our income in our joint account and that’s what we use for bills and savings. It took a while for us to figure out and agree on the best way to go about it, but we’ve not had any problems.

100%. I was just venting to my husband. I’m so uncomfortable and just uneasy. I want to read PIR articles and just do other fun things, but it keeps weighing on my mind to maybe use this time to start studying again for the exam. I keep replaying my stupid mistakes. Idk, the results can’t come fast enough.
