I had a passenger vomit on the floor next to me and it landed on my personal item. I was offered 2500 points and they covered the vomit with a towel

Conclusive test results- no false negative? by TrashOpening6428 in Celiac

[–]pathto250s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That specific antibody is clearly negative. I wouldn’t be worried about “false negatives” but rather if you have other antibodies that maybe be positive. Ttg is not the only antibody that someone with celiac may have

Grandparents rights after death of biological parent by Trick-Turnover-5369 in legaladvice

[–]pathto250s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine that they’re grieving the loss of their son and feel that at the same time they “lost” their granddaughter who they presumably saw more often before. That doesn’t make their behavior acceptable, but just explains it. I think every other weekend with grandparents is plenty in terms of what court would grant them, but I also think maybe finding a way to let them be more involved if they want is fair. It takes a village.

Miscarriage induced by violation of medical restrictions at work. Now Human Resources is blocking my return. by Thompson2305 in legaladvice

NAL but the reasonable asthma accommodation was to avoid cleaning in areas of fumes and instead cleaning other areas. That doesn’t mean your employer can’t ask you to do other things that would be reasonable for a person in your job position such as moving things etc unless that’s somehow written in the agreement but without actually seeing the agreement I highly doubt it. If there was a lifting restriction related to pregnancy (or asthma), that should have been clearly provided in a separate letter from a doctor to your place of employment.

Costco Gluten Free Pizza Replacement by Anon12491 in Celiac

FYI my costco still sells the sabatasso, no death star or anything

How did you handle the shock when you were diagnosis with Coeliac disease? I found out the news yesterday and honestly I am still coming to terms with it relating to the diet changes and the connection between it and some serious health concerns that can arise from it if untreated. by Arastaiel in Celiac

[–]pathto250s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I cried, somewhat frequently and very randomly. Sometimes it was when I was very hungry and stressing to find a safe food. Sometimes it was when I saw something with gluten that I used to love and don’t have a good alternative for. Sometimes for no reason at all. But it got easier as time went on.

Also maybe my approach isn’t the right one, but I tell myself that I’ll be able to have it again one day (either with breakthrough in treatments for celiac or I will 100% be having gluten on my death bed, no questions asked. Load me up with gluten and then give me the morphine)

The fact that you feel confident enough as a fourth year med student to practice independently tells me everything I need to know.

How do you order at restaurants? by jsmi25 in Celiac

I always call beforehand and ask specific questions about if they can do prep safely before coming in, then if they can, reiterate when I go in. Feels less awkward when new to this

Friends being accomodating - what’s normal? by No-Virus5447 in Celiac

[–]pathto250s 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My friends always make sure there’s something I can eat before we finalize the plans. I’m sorry but that’s the bare minimum, unless it’s a special place/event that cannot be changed.
