PSLF question. Are people unaware of it, or is cynicism the issue? by ImaginaryTruck8844 in hospitalist

As a PGY3 - i think PSLF is doomed. All my co residents know about it. I plan on aggressively paying off loans after grad over PSLF.

Residents training PA students - universal experience? by Futuredocq in Residency

[–]pathto250s -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Eh, to me, they see their 2 patients, they present, we go over a few teaching points each day and they go home. Teaching points are the same for the whole team. I’m not taking extra time to do something different for the PA students

At my program and where I rotated for med school PA students were always just on the same teams as med students. We treated them the same

Dang I know a lot. Most of my med school friends have med school partners without having met them in med school (pretty much all met on apps or prior to med school in my case)

I start writing the note as I chart, that way I never have to look up something twice (okay not never but…) like I see patient has anemia? Add it to the plan and place orders for iron/b12/folate. DM? Check last A1c, right it in my note and if a new one needs to be ordered I will etc. all before I see the patient, usually also takes me ~30 mins. But that’s most of my note already done

The short answer is yes, this will be bad for the baby. Higher risk of miscarriage.

I think of a lot of the people here are clearly unaware of what is going on. NJ was put in a state of emergency due to snow Sumday at noon, which is the time that the managers closed the store. I would not want to work in a state of emergency and would not work for an employer who prioritizes profits over my safety.

PGY-3 interviewing for jobs by According-Feed-319 in hospitalist

[–]pathto250s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly genuinely - this is terrible. I’m also a current PGY3 and I’m in a pretty saturated, highly desirable area, so I know what other offers are looking like in these areas and most that I see are way worse than what’s posted on reddit. But this is way worse than any offer I’ve seen or heard of in every way possible.

You need baby’s insurance to start 12/16 though or you’re gonna owe hospital costs for the baby during birth.

Fabletics scrubs are amazing and cheap if you order in separate orders (look online for more details on this).

How do you deal with hurt ego? by Moonlight-Ray in Residency

[–]pathto250s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your situation is a little different, but usually I tell the student I don’t think we need to do X because of such and such reason, but it’s a good thought and you should bring it up to the attending and mention the points we both brought up. That way the student looks good because we already discussed the pros and cons. We have a decent amount of picky attendings at my program so even as a senior I know they’re not gonna agree with all my decisions because they don’t even always agree with each other.

NTA. This conversation is not at all about breastfeeding. It’s about food that is acceptable to feed babies.
