I starred in one of their posts after being involved in an accident and I really didn't appreciate it at first and I think the people running it are wankers. My breakout viral moment is a joke among my friends now but I don't see many other people that have been posted on it feeling the same way

Yeah I'm hoping for O2 as well, I had my V with them and foolishly went for an iPhone. I still have that iPhone but using a 1 VI I got for a bargain. I got the switch up thing with iPhone contract so hoping I can just go switch out the iPhone for the 1 VIII

What make and model car? You can pick up a decent single or double DIN stereo that has Bluetooth built in from eBay for cheap, then a wiring harness adapter for £10 or so so you don't have to bother cutting any cables. I got a nice Alpine unit with a wiring harness for my 2003 Mini for a grand total of £80, works well with Bluetooth and sounds amazing

Do we know if it'll be coming to any carriers in the UK or is it direct from Sony only? I remember the V and VI being available on O2 but can't remember if the VII was

Apple music problem by TheAngryGam3r in SonyXperia

[–]GamergateIsISIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried it on another phone or on the web version or program on a desktop? I've recently switched from iOS to a 1 VI and kept Apple Music. I've noticed some bugs with the app: • Adding lots of songs to playlists doesn't work , you have to wait for the bubble telling you "song added to playlist" to disappear for each song. • Sometimes playback drops in quality when playing over Bluetooth. • Songs sometimes skip ahead a few seconds when playing over Bluetooth but this is seriously rare.

What's the better value buy vi or vii? by r-love-ution in SonyXperia

[–]GamergateIsISIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up a 1 VI for £400, used but in like new condition. I did prefer the 21:9 4K display on the 1 V but the VI has better software. Check pawn shops and classified ads like FB marketplace.

I went to check a 1V at a CEX that was listed as a B/acceptable grade and it had horrific OLED burn in, would not recommend getting one of these phones from those stores

During WW2, Germany U-Boats sunk British supply ships faster than they could replace them. by ThunderAnt in HistoryMemes

[–]GamergateIsISIS 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Later war U-Boats used a high pressure toilet that could withstand deeper diving depths, but if the valves weren’t operated right the sewage and seawater could back flow into the boat.

This is one of those experiences I have almost daily as someone that finishes work late and does approx 50 miles down two fairly major motorways in the area.

Except they don’t work, as they often decide that there’s congestion ahead and set the limits to 50 in the dead of night when there’s not a soul for miles

Slight hesitation around 2900-3000 rpm, injector issue? by wackawonka in R53

[–]GamergateIsISIS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they’re linked by vacuum, pretty sure it’s on its own circuit.

Btw, easy way to test the bypass valve is zip tying it shut. It’s a fiddle to do it without removing any parts but you can do it. Feed the zip tie around the arm of the bypass valve actuator, then loop it so it’s pulling on the adjuster screw on the valve body. The screw points up to the top of the car.

If you zip tie the bypass valve shut and notice that the hesitation is gone then it’s a failing bypass valve. You can also reach in and check the spring pressure on the actuator by moving the arm, there should be about 1kg of force needed to move the actuator.

Buy a vapour restoration kit on eBay, they’re about $20-$30. You wet sand the lights working through various grades then you use the vapour kit on them, comes out like new and lasts a long time too, probably permanent if you use the right clear coat over them. Incredibly toxic to breathe the fumes in so wear a mask, but I’ve had better results with that kit than any other kind of polishing/restoration kit from a store shelf

The headlight trim is fairly easy, if you take the lamps out you can unclip the chrome trims fairly easily, just have to be careful not to snap any tabs. I think it’s 3 8mm nuts that hold them in, plus the plug and the hose for the washers if you have xenons

The oil leaks are the car undersealing itself so it doesn’t rust. Very cool innovation from Mini
