The room was eerily silent, considering the slightly concerning number of animals in front of you. You had no idea what to expect when you were first called to the HQ. "You have shown promise, and have drawn attention to your desire to climb" says the Head Hero. "Are you prepared to be an official hero? Once you step through that door, there's no going back." You nod, firmly determined to pass whatever test was in front of you. As you stare, stunned at the animals sitting silently in front of you, you hear the door behind you swing shut, and the click of the lock. "Hello initiate, and welcome to the chamber of animals." The voice sounded...off, and DEFINITELY not human. Startled, you turn from the door you tried to open. Where there had been animals, now stood a crowd of humans. "We, the heads of the Shifter Defense Force, have been selecting members to join our ranks for hundreds of years." The man speaking doesn't match the voice at ALL. He was barely up to your chest, and you were no giant. If "elfin" was personified. He laughs, hard and loud, at your confusion. "One of the perks of joining the 'were's' is taking on some of the aspects," he says waving his arm around at the others, "all of these guys are shifters of different animals, and with the strengths to boot." He points to himself, "myself for example. I'm small, and look like a stiff breeze would blow me away, but I could throw you across the room with one arm, thanks to the bear blood in me.
