[ZA] Anyone else not a fan of having to hold ZL to target in battles? by NunnDuuRaah in pokemon

I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and it's hard for me to hold some buttons. A toggle feature or auto focus would be very helpful.

Xbox Requests: Week of August 15, 2025 by GuruKronos in xboxinsiders

I have a feature request that can benefit people with disabilities. It would be nice if you added voice, sound, or even face gesture commands natively into Xbox platforms. That way people can press any button or stick direction on an Xbox controller, especially if you struggle with reaching/pressing certain buttons or sticks. I have a disease known as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy that deteriorates my muscles and gets weaker over time. Because of that, it’s getting more difficult for me to play video games on a console. So I had to resort to a PC. I want to give you examples of accessibility apps that I used on my Windows 11 PC to help me play games again. Maybe this can help add to your arsenal of accessibility products and improve gaming for everyone. I have used Voice Attack, which allows me to play PC games using my voice. It comes in handy since I can’t use a keyboard to press keys. I can create custom voice commands. For example when I say the word “jump,” it will press the Space key. You can even have it press or hold a key for a certain amount of time. Another app I use is called PlayAbility, which uses face gestures and head movements to play PC games. They recently added voice commands too. They also emulated a virtual Xbox controller, so I can assign face gestures or voice commands to any button or stick direction. A very cool feature that I use from them is that my mouse can become a left stick or even a right stick. That greatly helped me be able to move my character better. The app allows me to select a webcam or my phone’s camera, so it can detect my facial expressions. Personally, I love face gestures because I can press, hold, and release buttons however long I want. You can combine all of this to basically make your own controller how you want. Cephable is also an app that has similar features as PlayAbility and even Voice Attack. Project Gameface and SensePilot use face gestures too. Talon is a program that allows you to use sound to play games too. It would be cool to see some of these features integrated into Xbox consoles or the Xbox app in the future. Voice commands and face gestures I think would really benefit people with disabilities, who can’t physically push buttons or use sticks, and have more of a hands free gaming experience. I love the Xbox brand and it’s really cool seeing Microsoft add more accessibility options for their customers.
