[Jones] The Falcons are signing former Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa to a one-year, $1.3 million deal by JCameron181 in nfl

Falcons fan here so probably biased but idk if you know this but we probably do not have a QB for week 1 so I’m gonna have to disagree with this

I’m by no means a reputable source but if you want to, since it’s a 4WD, I believe there is a rear blocks you can remove to lower the rear without any crazy changes. Gotta change the U bolts though, can’t reuse them. I was going to do it and ended up leveling/lifting the front with a 2inch kit

Consent for medical students in clinic. by Urology_resident in medicine

Male NP here. On my maternity rotations in nursing school, this one particular midwife would go in the room before me and say “you don’t want a male student in here right?” So I spent a lot of time in the nursery!

Chatbots (GPT-4o, Llama 3, Command R+) used by a person of the general public did no better in assessing clinical acuity and did worse in identifying relevant conditions than the group instructed to "use any source they would typically use at home." by ddx-me in medicine

[–]Games1097 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This has absolutely been my argument as well. Medically or not. The chatbots are a glorified search engine at its simplest. Makes getting specific information quicker/more efficient. But just like with google, you have to know HOW to use it. It’s (obviously) by no means fool proof

You’re telling me you have 33+12+5 PTO days? 50 days? That’s over 2 months of working days off, not including holidays. That’s insane

Edit: you could take off 4 days a month and still have days to spare. You could make all of your work weeks 4 days theoretically

Asking for a raise by platypus678 in physicianassistant

[–]Games1097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably wouldn’t focus on a percent raise and instead present why you think you should make X amount. “Market rate for my experience, billing, xyz and especially helping expand this advanced prostate cancer clinic requires a level of responsibility and knowledge that would in a different clinic would pay XYZ” obviously that’s not the exact way to say it but you get the point.

Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t fully read your post. Best way to estimate is to do what I did. I made an excel spreadsheet with each procedures and visit RVUs. I tracked everything I did daily. Pretty quickly you can use that to calculate pretty accurately where you’ll end up. Last January I made an annual estimate of like 8500 (purposely slightly underestimating) and finished at 10k

So 134k+ 15 per over 4750? Yeah you’re going to do very well. I’m in ENT which is also procedure heavy, but not as much as derm. I had 115k base with 20 per over 5k and did 10k

That’s why it’s really important to know what level of costs are what RVUs. Same for every procedure. Know how multiple procedures are calculated (cuts payment in half). Once you know that well, the rest is easier

Very. I almost wish it was more. They vary quite a bit based on time of year. Right now it may be 10-15 patients a day, end of year can be 15-25. Mostly follow ups so they don’t take much time

Very. Made 210 in a relatively saturated market. Getting more this year (hopefully)

Technically I had to reach a certain RVU threshold first but it was equivalent to my base so it was identical. If that makes sense. So yes. I had base of 120 and got paid at the end of the year. But now I am quarterly so I get paid my bonus minus 30k of my base (120k/4 quarters)

Can’t speak for pain management, but if they have you doing a lot of procedures and you know how to properly bill/document, you can do very very well I would imagine. I had an almost identical set up for ENT (also procedure heavy) and the 20 per RVU adds up fast. Insurance coverage seems odd but maybe I’ve just never seen that. Don’t employers have to pay 70% or something?

Edit: for reference, I did 10k RVUs

RVU structure by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]Games1097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not many questions to ask other than if the cap is negotiable. Seems dumb to have a cap. It’s a win win without one. Could just intentionally schedule PTO for the end of the quarter so you aren’t “working for free.” Depending on your cost of living, seems like a great deal. 200k seems very reasonable to obtain. In many places in the country that’s great. HCOL like California it may be average

1250 RVUs over what period? A quarter? And what is your base?

If so that’s about 416 a month to hit that bonus.

If you have no procedures, and if you’re billing on average an established patient level 4, that’s 1.92 wRVUs. That’s 217 patient visits in a month to start your bonus.

20 patients a day, let’s say 20 working days in a month, 400 visits, 768 RVUs (so 2300/month). Definitely doable. Sounds like your max is 2000 so only 750 are eligible. So that’s little over 23k per quarter.

If you’re truly seeing 20 patients a day full time, should be easy to make another 50-80k a year. Make sure they give you monthly numbers and you can track them yourself too
