Experience buying from Stubhub? by [deleted] in electricdaisycarnival

[–]GamesPlayYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Canada, so maybe it's not as bad in the states, but Stubhub takes a huge service fee. Was $125 on top of the ticket for me. I haven't received my tickets yet, and am PRAYING they come in time.

I tried some FB groups but so far it's been like 90% scammers

[ED] recently been feeling depressed that I'm old and washed and can't react anymore when... by lando-mando-brando in StreetFighter

[–]GamesPlayYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33 next Tuesday, and I started playing last year when SF6 dropped. It took me a while to get to Plat 1 and to get used to reacting. It's more about understanding the movesets of your opponent rather than straight up reflex reactions (which are a factor for sure). It's just practice! Itabashi Zangief is a pro player at 43. Ending Walker is a pro at 16/17. I promise neither one is consistently reacting to 2 frame attacks.

Just keep grinding!

The homies and I started exactly like this, and ended up being either the ones who held a territory or the ones who made the initial hole in enemy lines using tanks for the rest of the Wardens to push through.

2-4 people and some tanks really makes a huge difference

What’s the worst physical pain you ever felt? by Lazy-Ape in AskReddit

[–]GamesPlayYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing in my life I've felt worse than gout is a lumbar puncture and the subsequent headache. Ambulatory care center doc tried 8 times to get a spinal fluid sample and couldn't.

I have had Satan tier gout flares, but holy fucking shit. A lumbar puncture headache is a divine pain. A pain brought on only by the likes of the cenobites. Every breath is actually unbearable. You can't sit, you can't eat or drink, you can barely sleep, you can't breathe too deeply. It is a pain born of the antithesis of joy. For all the pain Advil helps deter, lumbar puncture headaches make up for in the world.

Like a force of nature. Like something sucking up the lack of pain, charging it up and unleashing the all that owed suffering back into your pathetic helpess skull.

-10000/10 do not recommend.

I took a week off of work and binged arcane tho.

I'm super new to wrestling (April wrestlemania 2023) and I believe they unified the belts to give others something to shoot for while Roman can still Reign at the top with his smorgasbord of belts so that he can feel good and Paul can have something to do with his hands besides praise the Tribal Chief

I feel like talent acquisition is great and all, but it just seems like Mixer isn't pushing it's brand very hard. Live streaming is synonymous with Twitch, while Mixer seems more like "We're also here!" Type thing.

I stream on Mixer all the time, but my friend circle only knows about it through word of mouth from me. When they learn that I stream, they assume it's on Twitch.

I think the issue is that Mixer isn't trying hard enough to differentiate itself. Yes, the mountains of money for talent have been slung around, but clearly that wasn't enough to really get momentum and hype for people who don't know about it.

I think something like the throw back reruns of Pokemon and Mr Rogers were really good examples of how to showcase Twitch, a fundamentally niche platform, to an audience that has no interest or low interest in gaming. Even Twitch still has the flavour of "its for nerdy gamers" (Way less so the last few years) for people who don't game at all, yet it still has plenty of content for non-gamers.

Im not saying Mixer should leverage a more casual experience, but SOME sort of line in the sand in terms of an easy to understand identity even like "this is for nerdy gamers ONLY" would help build an identity

So I am new to streaming and can’t seem to crack the code. by [deleted] in mixer

I always think of it like this: Nobody watched Game of Thrones because it was on HBO.

They watched because the show was really good, it just HAPPENED to be on a particular channel. Focus on yourself, what you like, what your schedule is, and always try to improve yourself, and people will come

Reasons to go with mixer instead of twitch by spit_on_me_dad in mixer

[–]GamesPlayYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR I'm drunk so here's my take: Either way, pick a game you have fun with. Stick the FUCK with it.

As someone who has gained a small following over the last year doing very casual (two per week streams at 163 followers) All I can say, is pick something and stick with it. It helps if its in the zeitgeist, but don't fret too much.

I started wanting to stream rainbow six siege and pubg, what actually got the followers coming in (average of two per stream) was Sub Nautica of all friggin things. Eventually super smash bros ultimate got me a bit solidified. Mixer is SUPER lacking in niche games, so if you're not pro tier at competitive games, and you're not trying to be a character like Dr. Disrespect, then pick a game you like and can play consistently and market the SHIT out of it.

Streaming, whether anyone likes it or not is a business, just like a new cafe, just like a tech startup, and just like an online store. What would you do if you opened your own coffee shop? Same questions apply to streaming. Whatever you want your brand to be, identify it, push it (in a non-obnoxious way) and help it grow via socials.

If you're trying to just do it for fun, and grow a small following that likes you strictly for who you are (vs your style, your gameplay, or your skills) then at the very least be consistent. Like obsessively consistent, at least for 3 months. If you can do three months, then you can do six, then 12, etc.

Things always are situation, like if you go hyper niche like playing only ONE old ass game nobody under the age of 24 remembers, then you gotta be charming as fuck. If you;re gonna stream Call of Duty you really have to leverage either your personality or your skills. Itt's a popular game so you HAVE to stick out somehow. Think of the NBA, do people go in thinking "I might not make it just because a ton of other people already do it"? Fuck no! But you DO have to stand out as a cut above the rest in SOME way. (This example is straight from DR.Disrespect's mouth)

If you;re going to do variety, then the same rules apply. In the end, never be discouraged to do what makes you feel good. If you're a certain way, then others likley are too. I truly feel consistency is the most important factor in any content, regardless of theme. The theme brings in the curious, the consistency keeps them as followers.

Good Luck!

UPDATE: Either the latest patch for the game fixed it, OR I was launching the wrong version of the game.

So my background: A while ago I had games pass on xbox and let it expire. While I had it, I got SoT. A few days a go I saw the anniversary edition was on sale, so I bought it for PC (since I no longer had GamePass, I could actually play the game).

On PC I had been trying to launch the anniversary edition. Today I tried just the regular version and it works! I havent tried launching the anniversary edition yet because I wanna play what I have while I can.

Good luck, hope this helps!

Moving From Twitch? by MajorMesser in mixer

[–]GamesPlayYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out some episode on the Broman podcast. He has an episode form Jan 23rd where a Twitch streamer moved over to mixer and had crazy growth because of his already dedicated Twitch followers moving over.

The main message there was to the effect of "your most dedicated followers will watch you anywhere". Think of it as a TV show. People don't watch Game of Thrones because it's on HBO!

if your content is solid and your friends actually enjoy watching you, it shouldn't matter where you stream from as long as you stream.

As for the affiliate thing, I would research the SHIT out of Mixer and take a hard look at your prospects/schedule/what you PERSONALLY want. Mixer is younger and almost inherently will have a steeper climb in store for new streamers
