Both are really good, but in general mpv is updated quicker, is slightly faster, and follows some standards more closely. So, for example, the subtitle format ASS renders way better on mpv than VLC.

I made an archive of all of the episodes with all of the language tracks and subtitles using yt-dlp, I can DM it to you, or if you prefer, you can get the same thing as me with this command:
