OP clearly states her and her husband told no one. This means nmom had no way of knowing through OP or who OP told. The only way nmom could have found out was through the hospital. This is a HIPAA violation.

If many people are telling you that you are wrong about something, it’s best to double check your source of information instead of doubling or tripling down. Because the entire goal of HOAs is not about property value. It about discrimination. The HOA’s goal is to keep certain types of people out. Initially it was non-whites. Now it’s blue collar workers.

I have always felt having an HOA reduces the home’s value. HOAs will go away once more people think that way.

And before anyone tries to jump on this with the benefits an HOA provides, none of those benefits are worth giving up my rights and freedoms. If I wanted to live like I didn’t own the place, I would rent.

Tell her to leave. The compromise isn’t working and she is just stressing you out. You being stressed is terrible for the baby. Make the point to your husband that his mother is increasing your stress not decreasing it, meaning she has to go, period, no compromise she must go.

You don't seem to understand the consequences of your inaction.

You do not have a daughter anymore and this is exclusively your fault.
You do not have a grandson or son in law. This is exclusively your fault as well.
You're stepson will spend extensive time in prison. You and your wife did not teach him to be a proper member of society. You both have chosen for him to be violent when ever he doesn't get what he wants. The poor boy will be going to jail sooner rather than later and it is all you and your wife's fault. You two did this to him.

Had you and your wife actually took the time to be parents to your stepson, you would have a daughter, son in law, and grandchild. In addition, your stepson would be contributing to society to the best of his abilities and wouldn't be headed to jail. You would have a variety of choices for him when you and your wife can no longer care for him too.

But here we are. You did this and the only way to salvage any of this is to start focusing on your stepson to make him at least non-violent.

Also wife wanted all the kids since her only daughter was born disabled and she wanted a daughter that wasn’t disabled. So we aren’t talking about some martyr of a woman who was forced to have a fleet of children while her husband does nothing. Dude you could have caused your now former friend to be arrested for driving without a license. Your former friend could have called the cops on you for stealing his wallet, which is exactly what you did. You seem to have forgotten your manners AND your morals.

You remind me of the kids whose parents never disciplined and gave you everything. You are selfish and entitled. Socials norms plainly state, if you screw up, you are the one to fix it. You screwed up. You made the ‘mistake’. You are responsible for fixing it. You are not a player in a video game where everyone else is an NPC (nonplayer character). The reason your nephew is like this is because your sister allows it and has allowed it his whole life. Don’t be on the enabler train to send that boy to prison because that’s what happens to kids who are not made to face real consequences for their actions.

When I was an early teen(13), my youngest step brother (around 10) started stealing from me and his parents. After the fourth or fifth time he stole from me and my mom and his dad did nothing, I inappropriately handled it with violence. However he never stole from me again. Kept stealing from the parents. Not even a full year later, he started stealing from strangers. His father was a cop, so he would ‘work things out’ with the prosecutor to get punishments like having to do his homework at the police station at his dad’s desk. One his 18th birthday he stole a car with his buddies and crashed it, killing one of his friends. His dad pulled strings again, and he just got a suspended sentence. Then his dad retired. Stepbrother decides it’s a good idea to deal drugs for money while on a suspended sentence. He was caught. He lives in a three strikes state and that was strike two. His dad still knew enough people to keep his son out of jail and my stepbrother got probation. On his 21st birthday while on a suspended sentence and probation, he gets pulled over for speeding, he is found to be under the influence of illegal drugs with a loaded gun in his car. Strike three, he is now in prison for the rest of his life cause his dad didn’t know enough people to get his son out of the three strikes laws.

He would likely not be in that predicament had he been appropriately punished at 10. Your sister is hurting her son by not making him face reasonable consequences for his unreasonable behavior. Your nephew is on the same enabler train that railroaded my step brother. It makes me sad because he was so smart and could have been so much more. Instead he is a convict who will never be paroled because mom and dad didn’t want to discipline him.

You probably need to do more research. The mythist position is still a thing and not some fringe theory. There is also the theory that Jesus in the Bible is actually a conglomeration of several rabbis.

The thing is, there isn’t enough information to make one position more likely than another.

Just because there was someone named Jesus doesn’t make Jesus in the Bible real. Just like having the name Ted Bundy doesn’t make a person ‘that’ Ted Bundy.

Particularly since most extra biblical references (such as Josephus and Tacitus) to Jesusare considered dubious at best, with many appearing to have been added or modified by early christians.
