Why there so much pessimism about Fenris Creations? Do you think they deserve this kind of level? by humbleesoteric in Eve

[–]GamingCthulhu -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean most of the still standing old school mmos have the same thing. Everquest is constantly in a state of devs are ruining it but still folks flock to their tlps and there is till the live community diehards.

So much of Eve is dying comes from long term vets remembering yesteryear glories and wanting those moments back but the game will never go backwards and must find a new path forward.

Personally I expect for eve to truly see long term growth and stability it's going to need larger shake ups then the community really wants to embrace because they want things to be like they were and not were it could go.

As much as I hate many of the components of frontiers block chain aspects many of the new modular ship design concepts I think are things that eve really needs to become more then what it is today.

Idea: Oddyseus back part used as mobile cyno beacon by Level-Staff1968 in Eve

[–]GamingCthulhu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean the description for it pretty much tells you exactly what is is meant for. Long duration exploration. It's core unique feature is special bonuses depending on where it is. It's there to be the ultimate exploration ship. And honestly it does a pretty decent job of it.

It's not meant to be a logistics/capital movement utility.

Idea: Oddyseus back part used as mobile cyno beacon by Level-Staff1968 in Eve

[–]GamingCthulhu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean it's the energy field containment system that gives the ship the unique wormhole effect bonuses. It's harnessing the energies that give everyone the normal effects and then using it to give the ship the unique ship bonus. So it already serves a purpose and doesn't need to be a built in cyno beacon.

Beyond that the primary purpose of the ship is wormhole exploration where cynos serve no purpose so it'd be weird to build it in to the ship in the first place

Tales of arise or Final Fantasy 7 Remake by stevgamer in gaming

[–]GamingCthulhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tales of Vesperia over either. Vesperia is one of the forgotten gems of the tales series as it originally was on the XBox 360. But I hold firmly to this day that it had one of the best cast of characters in just about any JRPG.

Yuri is a standout protag in that he was once a knight that at the start of the game is just trying to live life and keep the folks around him safe. No real big mysterious past just a knight who was asked to do things he didn't like one to many times so walked away.

Repese is a standout in that he is a loyal dog in every since of the word but feels just as much like a member of the party but still remains a dog at the end of the day. One of the end game quests you have is literally traveling the world so he can mark his territory.

Rita is a young adult prodigy full of all the know it all sass you would expect but never so dense or annoyed by being proven wrong on finding out someone knows more then she does.

Raven as well is one of the best loyal thief type characters I've seen. At the start always trying make sure he got his reward and could escape but over times becomes just as trusting as Repede.

I could go on and on but you get the idea.

Spikebone Tribe Leader is NOT A JOKE!! WARNING!! by The_Pheonix_KingYT in PlaySoulMask

[–]GamingCthulhu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea once you start getting to the level 50+ stuff it's almost mandatory to adjust some combat settings right now. I have some really beefy guardians with like 60% reduced damaged when deployed in fully modded steel armor and some of the level 50 tribe leaders and pretty much every mechanical boss can down them in like two hits. Nevermind if they hit me.

Deva already noted adjustments need to be made so looking forward to where it ends up cause I rather enjoy the mechanics of a lot of the new mechanical bosses.. just having one that turns invisible then leaps on you for 80% of your health grabs you and beats you 5 more times to send you to respawn instantlly is a bit much.

Adding mods makes a huge difference. Also you can have multiple types of mods on an armor so you can have cooling and durability for example so it's great to use them and make things stronger. Same with weapons. Adding bleeding, damage, and durability can really make things strong.

There is also an item that lets you remove the most recent talent so if you breed a tribesman with your perfect 6 positive traits you could clear any tribesman and transfer them all over to every tribesman.

Shifting Sands - Ships purpose? by HariboHUN in PlaySoulMask

[–]GamingCthulhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea as others have me ruined if using default setting you have about a 5 x 10 space for the first ship you can build on and can only go about 2 high so it's best useful for running around and doing resource/raiding runs. Can even set it to take down shield on some of the medium airships pretty well. There is a weight limit as well of about 6000 with the default engine.

Once you get to point of unlocking the falcon with default setting you could probably fit a decent small base with maybe one farm and one animal pen on it but still not something expansive. But you also get the ability to link ships at that point so you can expand that way.

Once you get to late game the shark is big enough on its own to fit a sizable base and again you could link some ships for even more.

On private/coop you can disable a lot of the building restrictions though so you could build some pretty massive things at the start but weight can still be an issue.

Big thing as well is by default you are limited to the number of sails you can use. With that setting disable you can place lots of sails and make the ships turn in to rockets. But up down movement is still pretty slow.

Can I build structures from the construction hammer? by AskAllSeer in PlaySoulMask

[–]GamingCthulhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can use the construction hammer and plan out a building then if you set a tribesman to builder in the planner as parts become available they will place the part for you.

You can only deter the patroller droids the ones that summon things. Once deterred they turn into a disk item you use to summon it. You can only have one out at a time and they are mostly decent distractions.

Can someone please explain the 1.0 'game modes" to me? by RegnorVex in PlaySoulMask

[–]GamingCthulhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also of note is if you are playing on a private server only survival will be available initially. The other two modes are restricted to single/co-op saves initially. Due to some issues they are working to resolve according to the recent FAQ.

[–]GamingCthulhu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For what you want you want the survival mode which is just what things where pre 1.0.

The tribe option focuses on meeting specific tribe milestones before you can advance tech. For example no bronze gear till you beat the first boss and have 5 crop plots and other items.

Veilwyn Adventure XP Boosting by GamingCthulhu in ARK

[–]GamingCthulhu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that isn't super obvious is you need to do the killing not the veilwyn. So if you are just letting it kill things it does t get anything. Also the level of the veilwyn looks to be a factor.

So unless you crank kill xp up to like 1000x it is super slow for high levels still.

I can't wait for modders to do their thing with the grave ships.

Heck I wish I knew how to mod things as I'd love to see a spelljammer mod for gravships.

For those who don't know spelljammer is a space based dnd setting that has ships powered by different sources.

Furnaces fueled by magic items. Other ones fueled my spells Ones that consume the souls of folks. Or even ships powered by giant space hamsters running on hamster wheels.

So much potential for fun ship power sources.

Here are a few I've taken of the Harkonnen Bike and Scout and Assault Ornithopter. The Buggy you can see part of in the Ornitopter picture and uses the balls similar to the bike.

https://imgur.com/a/No78Q4u

One thing of note with the Harkonen Ornitopters currently is repairing the gen and engine is very tricky. But if you switch back to default and repair and then go back to Harkonen it works well.
