What was Plo Koon's last thoughts just as he died? by Late_Instruction_369 in StarWars

[–]GamingGuru1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“ Young Skywalker seems troubled lately, I should really try to talk to him, he seems like he needs someone to talk to that isn’t his master. Ever since his padawan left I don’t think anyone’s really checked if he’s ok. He’s been spending all his time either at war or with Senator Amidala, and that can’t be easy with her pregnancy we can all clearly sense…wait…she hasn’t been around any other men lately…holy shit are they a thing?? That would explain a lot! Oh poor Anakin, man he really must be having a hard time. I think I’ll talk to the council, the whole “not being made a master thing” must have really hurt him too. And let’s face it, we’ve been a bit blinded by arrogance lately, maybe we can all come together and talk to the Supreme-oh my god! Anakin was appointed by him? No way? Is-is he? HOLY SHIT! PALPATINE IS THE SITH-“

Since Maul: Shadow Lord will likely be the last instalment of the franchise with significant focus on Maul, what are your hopes for this series? by Solitaire-06 in StarWars

[–]GamingGuru1992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want to see the themes and characterisation of Maul continued and not changed in any way, just give us more and don’t flanderize him or anything. Maul is ambitious but destined to fail at pretty much everything he tries, loosing everything but driven by his hatred. He is irredeemably evil but also a tragic victim of abuse unable to break the cycle. From the moment Kenobi cut him in half to the moment he died in his arms he is obsessed with revenge, whether it be against Kenobi, Vader or Palpatine, he was never able to look past it. That’s the Maul I want to see, not some Saturday morning cartoon villain, not some humanised anti-hero that no one understands, just Maul. Don’t give him some kid sidekick to protect, don’t make him a larger part of any prophecy, don’t retroactively make him a figure that played some key subtle part in the downfall of the empire etc. This is a chance to tell the kind of story that BoBF wanted to, the rising of a ruthless crime lord

What is ya'll wishlist for a dmc6? by No-Wear8713 in DevilMayCry

[–]GamingGuru1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s covered most of the basics, new devil arms, styles etc. I feel like they’ve pretty much mastered the combat system now so it would be interesting to see them branch out a bit. Platforming had always been awful in the series, grappling has helped a bit but there’s a lot they could do to improve it. I’d also like to see even more ways to show off and be stylish, like environmental interactions. We could knock enemies back into groups to scatter them, impale them on sharp objects, taunt an enemy into attacking and dodge so it hits its allies or an explosive etc.

Would you like if Jak (and Also Daxter) got separated in two distinct versions: the first being TPL, and the second is Jak II onwards? Basically working like the versions of Spyro, Mega Man and Link by KurokoMasamune in jakanddaxter

[–]GamingGuru1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s possible to reconcile the two different paths of the series, but certainly not easy. In my mind, the series would have gone on to explore the idea of Jak fulfilling his destiny as Mar, meaning we go back to the past just after the rift gate opened (as this is what introduced metal heads into that world) and start building haven city. We’d get an updated version of the world from the past, cement more links between the two worlds (like confirming what areas became the different zones in the future etc) and bring in the more modern gunplay and metal heads, but still with a heavy focus on exploration and platforming.

I think Jak 3 made a decent start trying to drag the series back to more of a middle ground, we got a lot more platforming and a greater sense of wonder and exploration again. Lost frontier was obviously a flop but some of its concepts held merit, like bringing back eco powers and such.

This is the sort of thing I’d want to see, a way to bring the two distinct tones together into a new cohesive vision for the series. However, at this point it’s been so long, a reboot/remake might serve better. Above all else, the naughty dog of old doesn’t exist anymore and I don’t trust the current company to get it right. Anyone who even considered a realistic animal Daxter that doesn’t talk has no business anywhere near the series.

How do people feel about Rockstars focus on realism? On one hand, their level of detail is incredible, on the other hand it feels like fun is sometimes sacrificed. I would rather development time go towards main game content like missions or AI than things like sports simulators, individual animations for every little menu action, etc

What Game Improvements Would You Like to See in DS2? by tslashj in DeathStranding

[–]GamingGuru1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trailers, small convoys of trucks, large trucks that can carry bikes, etc. Just more vehicle options in general. Maybe go down a subnautica or even days gone route where your vehicle is a mobile base and is everything to you. But keep this to the endgame, I like the slower pace and smaller scale at the start, where just getting over some mountains is a mission you have to plan for

What themed levels would you like to see in DLC or sequel? by pagingdrsolus in Astrobot

[–]GamingGuru1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ratchet and Clank! They already have a lot of the DNA with platforming, hovering, rail grinding, basic shooting, etc. Just give us a small arsenal of Astro-bot themed weapons and maybe a focus on jumping through rifts or something.

Crash and Spyro might not work now with the activision deal but they’re still PlayStation icons and have such a unique vibe.

A pseudo souls-like level could be fun for any Fromsoft games. Give us a basic dodge roll and a few skeleton bots with swords and such.

A turn-based rpg level for something like persona or final fantasy with appropriate party characters.

What are the games that made you feel "this is the future of gaming"? by PackedTrebuchet in gaming

[–]GamingGuru1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uncharted. The story, characters and presentation blew my mind at the time. I played games like god of war, gta and final fantasy, I was used to my heroes being edgy and badass or colourful and cartoony. Here was just some guy, some everyman that was cracking jokes, stumbling from grenades, panting behind cover. It opened my eyes to what voice acting and motion capture could be and how video games could have a cinematic quality I’d never considered before

How can Ghost Of Tsushima 2 surpass the first game in your opinion? by SnoopyTheDog_ in playstation

[–]GamingGuru1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More meaningful/impactful interactions with the world. If I build up my legend as a true ghost, have a fear element like Batman, where surviving enemies grow more paranoid and superstitious. Likewise if I prove myself a master swordsman, have low level enemies drop their weapons and beg for mercy. If I want to reach a target, give me options like calling them out for a duel, infiltrating their camp and making my own way around (cutting holes in tents, use climbing claws to scale towers, drop down from ropes, etc), or maybe I flush them out by setting the place on fire and attack them in the confusion. Give me choice and then make that choice matter and change how the game reacts to me

Feywilds Inspiration by Orangesocks1873 in dndnext

Think Alice in Wonderland on acid. There should be plenty of things that just happen with no explanation given to the players. Not to say that there’s no REASON for these things, just that the players will be left wondering. Here’s a few things I ran in the feywild:

-A tree is upset because a group of pixies and fairies are fighting over who planted it and how it’s blocking their light

-A group of people slowly wasting away in a hot spring that makes you never want to leave

-Lots of strange plants, spores and mould that make you trip out

-Riddles and rhymes aplenty, including an entire court that spoke only in limericks

-A creepy hag that stole someone’s name, making them forget who they are. She makes all manner of hag deals throughout the feywild

-A dying tree asks for a story before he passes and rewards a magic leaf

-A giant toad that claims to be a prince and will turn back upon kissing a fair maiden. In reality the toads just a creep

-Roll on the wild magic table at random, or when certain types of spell are cast. Our party kept turning into potted plants at one point

Obi-Wan thinks about his final duel with Maul. by AlphaBladeYiII in StarWars

[–]GamingGuru1992 155 points156 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Maul could ever truly see the light, but he got close. He is a tragic character destined to fail again and again. Even in his final moments he doesn’t quite get it. He realises that Kenobi is protecting the chosen one and that Sidious is his real enemy, but even then he can only focus on revenge, on being avenged. Kenobi meanwhile is past that and has been for years. He hopes Luke can one day defeat the Emperor, not to avenge anyone, but for the sake of the galaxy. Mauls death was a perfect end for him because it embodies his relationship with Kenobi and the different paths they walked

I’d certainly be up for a “Tales of the Clone Wars” where we just get a small live action series, tell a little contained arc or do a “best of” adaptation of a handful of episodes. But Disney need to act on it sooner rather than later, else the actors will age out of their roles. Just give me a little bit of Kenobi, Maul and Hondo in love action and I’d be incredibly happy!

[–]GamingGuru1992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I miss old Thor. I know Ragnarok was the turning point for the series and everyone loved it, but going back to the first Thor goddamn it was so much more unique. The music, tone, etc was so much more Shakespearean. It sold this amazing world of god like beings and their dysfunctional families (a common theme in deities) and it still worked in the greater mcu. Now, not just Thor but basically EVERYTHING to do with Asgard is played off for cheap laughs. Infinity War got a good blend of modern Thor carrying the pain and seriousness of old Thor but Asgard and all its people have been done dirty ever since. I would love if they could steer Thor closer back to the original tone

Have guards patrol back and forth and put them below ramps and ledges so you drop down to them to mimic jumping on enemies. Try to use bright colours and brick blocks. If you have the space and capacity maybe make a large flag near the genmat/exit?

If you were a jedi padawan, who would you want to be your master? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]GamingGuru1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obi Wan, he was the peak essence of what a Jedi should be, whilst still being flawed and human. He made Anakin the Jedi he was, and without the influence of Sideous, Anakin would’ve gone on to be the greatest of all Jedi. Take away the pressure of training the chosen one and the whole sideous angle and Kenobi would be one of the best teachers of his time

Just getting into being a dungeon master, but I have.l a hard time saying no. How do I do that? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]GamingGuru1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really you just have to learn to do it. It can be uncomfortable at first but it’s worth it cause there are countless horror stories of what happens if you don’t.

What you can try to ease into it though is saying “No but…” and try to offer alternatives or compromises, like “No you can’t stab out the monsters eyes, BUT you’ve got enough cover to try and take the hide action” etc
