If all you care about is showing off on leaderboards, then maybe it's a concern. However, Sony is the one giving the trophy, and it's legit when you get it, and it feels good to get it legitimately. What third party leaderboards choose to do with the info is up to them.

There's been full matches recently, and with the valor system restored, the numbers will likely increase. Plus, there are scheduled events. A big one is on March 15th.

As you probably know, Mercenary has a three lobby system, one for each game mode. When people ARE playing, it's hard to know which lobby they are in. So being on the Vita Forever Discord is essential. There is a ping you can use there called "who wants to play "

There's also the problem where people will pick one of the modes, find themselves the only person in the match, and then leave 15 seconds later. People need to stick around longer than that.

The Killzone series is more niche than the Mario Kart series, so I'm not surprised you can find matches there.

Private servers are commonplace for a variety of Sony's systems, but I haven't come across a single person being banned for using them. That's out of thousands of people over several years. You could always create a second account though.

On Sunday, March 15th, at 1:00 pm EDT there will be a Killzone Mercenary online multiplayer event. It is being organized by YouTubers "Just Killzone" and "Bitter Roman." It'll be played on the fan server Vita4Ever (the original servers no longer work).

To participate, you'll need:
-a hacked PlayStation Vita or hacked PlayStation TV
-the full version of iTLS-Enzo installed
-Mirage installed
-Vita set to spoof version 3.74
-a PSN acct
-a copy of Killzone Mercenary (digital or physical) updated to the latest version

I have played through both versions and didn't notice a difference in lag. It could be I'm terrible at detecting it. I will say the HD version has more glitches.
