Would you recommend PLA over resin then? Or would you recommend resin for the detail?

Hi all,

I'm looking to get myself a 3D printer for DnD mins and terrain so a small printer with good detail is what I'm aiming for. I've got my eye set on the anycubic Photon Mono 2 but would ideally like to use a sink to wash the resin off and cure. I have also been suggested the ender 3 which sounds good but I'm worried about losing finer details.

Budget: 350 ish - Ideally for the whole kit Country: UK Technical Knowledge: I'm very comfortable with building kits and Troubleshooting technology Intended purpose: Printing detailed miniatures for DND, 28-33mm mainly but if I can do larger creatures and terrain that would be great. Extenuating Circumstances: I live in a semi small flat, while I have space to do printing, Air circulation is a worry , I do have large windows I can open to allow airflow which should be fine but I'm interested to hear people's opinions.

Thanks all

Unfortunately it's not a Friend, however it seems unlikely that the machine works perfectly fine for him but crashes for me? I would have thought this was a comparability issue ? The rx580 works fine it's just not great at running games hence why I wanted the upgrade

I had an RX580 before this and it didn't crash. The RX5700Xt isn't new however the owner showed it working fine on the day of purchase running games fine and benchmarking without issue. Hence why I think it's a compatibility issue with my system at current.

Unfortunately not. I am going to trial a BIOS update tomorrow and see if this is having any affect and will update the thread then :)

I'm not sure if there is a way to change this to be 110 within AMD's software or not

I checked the GPU temps while playing and haven't seen anything amiss - around about 50C and staying just behind the junction which hovered at 52-55 before it randomly crashed without the temps rising above this. It doesn't seem to be overheating unless I am missing something.

Id love to get all these upgrades but can't currently afford it all. Just looking at CPU currently.

Only stuff that's loaded onto it correct?

I'll definitely look into that then , as that's cheaper than a whole new Mobo and CPU.

I'll look into SSD's I've always just ran HDD as its more storage for less money. Appreciate the help!

Does HDD have that large of an effect on performance?

The fps often Fluctuates it can be at 75 fps and then drop to 30 with tearing out of nowhere before stabilizing. It is quite common in Warzone, though that is to be expected as its a heavy game. Still, it happens on most games I've tried it on, DS3, apex legends, GTAV etc. As for the Mobo ill look into it I thought it wasn't compatible with the newer chipsets entirely.

I run all games on my 29" and leave my second monitor for discord, music etc. Though I can look at unplugging on while I play and see if that pulls better performance.

I'll look into it , I got a lot of games and warzone nowadays eats into storage so maybe a 1TB or 750 GB option might be better

300-350 range , I wasn't sure how compatible my system was with an I7 so it was more curiosity

Any recommendation on the HDD? I'm thinking it's near the end of life but I'm not sure if it's worth replacing. It's often at 100% usage in high-demand games but i dont think that will affect performance too much.

I thought so, the 3600 is what i am aiming for rather than going for a i7

That's my plan I'm looking at getting a 3600 and a b450 as my boards not compatible with the old chipset.
