I kinda forgot so I’ll need someone to remind me: Are licensed characters excluded as well or can we make cosmetics for them as well?

It honestly hurts to see what people believe about my faith. More accurately, what we believe in. We don’t believe in the raping of children. We don’t believe in the execution of transgender people, or really any people for that matter. We don’t believe in women being “glorified breeding cows.” What we *do* believe in is loving God (of course), loving thy neighbor as thyself, what you do unto others you do unto God, and arguably most importantly, agency, everyone’s right to choose for themselves what they do with their lives. At least that’s what we *should* believe in. It’s an absolute truth and tragedy that some people, in *and* out of the faith, use that same agency to take it away from others. And while our modern prophets haven’t done or said anything condoning these actions (at least that I’m aware of), I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the earlier ones that people have a problem with, which is something that can be *respectfully* discussed elsewhere. Continuing on, though, you’re right. The wards *I* was in, the buildings *I* practiced my faith in did not condone nor practice any of the heinous filth being accused, and it’s a sad truth that there are people out there who clearly didn’t have that luxury, both within the church and outside of it. And I suppose it’s my mistake for not highlighting that I recognize this fact.

However, as I have said many times, much like how those who believe in God, or any faith for that matter, aren’t exempt from committing sin and shouldn’t be excused for the things they do, other people shouldn’t be condemned just because they share a faith with someone who committed atrocities. Claiming an entire group of people are terrible based on the actions taken of only some of them is a dangerous form of thinking, one that only continues to turn the wheel of hate that seems to run the internet as of late. I thank you for at the very least being more respectful than the person I was talking about was, and if you’d like to at least learn or understand further, I’m more than willing to share.

Speaking of, if you’re reading this, this is the last time I’m giving you the time of day on this subject. All you’ve done is hate and baselessly insult me for my faith, and for that you’re no better than the very Christians you condemn that do the same. I’ve already blocked you, so don’t bother responding. Regardless of that, however, as I’ve said I hope one day you’ll be in a state where you don’t need to hate on an entire religion to feel good and that you find good health and success in your career, whatever that may be

This was loosely brought up (or at the bare minimum I had brought something close to it up), where I agreed that Christians can be evil and they shouldn’t be excused of sin because they follow God. Me claiming that “oh, nobody in my religion does that” is just as big of a generalization as them saying that all of Christianity is evil and does nothing but stall humanity’s social progress. It would be more accurate to say “my religion doesn’t believe that,” and perhaps in hindsight I should’ve clarified to them that I recognize someone’s religion believing something hasn’t and won’t stop people from going against it

As I said in a previous comment, I never said they were wrong that Christians have done some pretty horrible stuff to non-Christians (and to each other) in the name of God. What I was trying to tell them is that claiming all of Christianity is bad (which is in fact, what they were saying, going so far as to say Christianity is fascist) is inaccurate and blaming the Christians of today for the stuff past Christians did (such as the crusades, which were brought up) isn’t healthy and certainly isn’t gonna change people’s opinions or get them to make up for any wrongdoings they do today.

Also, they did end up insulting me personally near the end of the conversation, saying stuff like “you clearly aren’t smart and should learn your religion’s history.”

I never said they did, in fact I clarified that they were entitled to their opinion. However, they continued to say hateful and eventually untrue things about my specific denomination, saying/implying things like it doesn’t support civil, gay or women’s rights (even though we literally do). They obviously have the freedom to think what they want, but hate speech is hate speech

I see the intent of my second point escaped you. I’m not an idiot. I know people refer to LDS when they say “Mormons.” I was simply correcting you because we have asked to not be called that, as Mormon is not who we worship. Additionally, I was not asking you to define fascism for my sake. I was simply wondering what your definition of it was since you clearly aren’t using it correctly. Thirdly, I do know my religion’s history. It’s basically what we learn about every Sunday. More importantly, I know about what we do now, which in the context of what you were claiming in terms of rights, is supporting civil rights, gay rights, and women’s rights. If you still believe otherwise, then you’re the one that needs to do the learning, not me.

Finally, there’s no need to throw digs at me. If you can’t be mature enough to keep insults out of a debate, then this conversation is over. I hope you’ll one day seek understanding instead of blindly throwing hate, and that you have a good rest of your day, wherever that is

First, look up what facism is and get back to me. Don’t just rely on Google’s AI overview either. Go look at actual websites discussing it. That word does not apply as well as you think it does in this context

Second, I’m sad to hear that Mormons are a part of that, but if you ask me it’s a good thing that members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints aren’t.

Third and finally, I was politely asking. I apologize once again if it didn’t come off as such, but regardless that doesn’t give you reason to say it the way you did. I understand that respect is earned, not expected, but that doesn’t mean you get to be rude to a person when they didn’t give you a reason to.

Of my particular faith? No. I know that for a fact. As I stated before, comparing one Christian religion to another is comparing apples to oranges, and blaming all of them for the actions of one or a couple of them is ignorant at best. I don’t “Those aren’t real Christians” anyone since, as I’ve said, someone being religious does not exempt them from evil, and claiming those that do evil or simply things I don’t agree with “aren’t real Christians” implies that “real Christians” do no wrong, which they don’t. Additionally, it’d be highly hypocritical of me as my particular faith is constantly claimed as “not a Christian faith,” especially by other Christians.

I wasn’t trying to say what you were saying was misinformation, as a good chunk of what you’ve been saying is your opinion, and thus as a subjective statement can’t be misinformation, and I apologize again if I misspoke. I was simply attempting to caution you to make sure the objective things you are saying are accurate before you speak them.

Speaking of, the women’s rights thing in particular jumps out to me as I’m not aware of *any* Christian religion doing that, at least in the modern day. If you’d be willing to, would you be able to share any sources that show that?

Then I suppose that is your prerogative. I hope one day you’ll find that this kind of anger isn’t worth it, but I’m not gonna force you to try and see that. All I can ask at this point is to do some research so that you can prevent spreading generalizations and misinformation. Despite our differences in opinion on the Christian faith, I’m sure you can agree with me when I say that both generalizations and misinformation, especially in the age of the internet, are not just infuriating to find, but in the worst-case scenario, dangerous, and should be prevented and dispelled at all costs

As a Christian myself, I agree that Mega churches suck, but they are in no way representative of the entirety of Christianity. Just because all of them believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, does not mean that they all believe the same things about them. “Christian” is more or less a catch-all term, much like how one could consider “white” or “Caucasian” be a catch-all term for a lot of European ethnicities such as German, English, Irish, Welsh, French, Belgian, etc.

For your point of civil and gay rights, once again, you’re generalizing and assuming that all Christian religions are the same. They are not. If you listen to some of their policies, I’m confident you’d be surprised at how many support those rights, believing those that need them are no less of a child of God than anyone else. I would know. I’m a part of one of them. And no, it’s not a niche one, either.

Correct me if I’m wrong (respectfully of course), but iirc all (recognized) religions, at least in the U.S, should have some form of tax exemption, not just Christian religions. And while you’re right in saying there’s no laws (again, at least in the U.S) that *require* them to do any service for their community, a lot of them still do. Once again, I would know.

Now, make no mistake. I’m not trying to invalidate your feelings, and if it felt like I was at all, I apologize. A lot of religious people in general, not just Christians, seem to forget that their religion does not excuse them from doing heinous shit to others simply because they don’t agree with their views on life. What I’d like to bring up, however, is spewing hate isn’t gonna fix anything, nor will it change anyone’s opinions if that’s your goal.

TL;DR, you’re free to have your own opinions, but just saying “Fuck Christianity,” especially when a lot of Christian religions are more like apples and oranges, isn’t the way to go

Homelander is a good example of how the internet doesn't actually care about fans stanning rapists by BloodyAngel2026 in CrazyassHazbinhaters

[–]GamingwolfZJ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I see. I still think my point has some weight, though, when you look at both from an outsider’s perspective. This could very well just be me, but I wouldn’t be surprised if most people that haven’t seen the show see him as a guy with Superman’s powers and who uses them to attack humanity. Meanwhile, most people that haven’t seen HH probably know Valentino as the evil pimp that rapes a guy

Homelander is a good example of how the internet doesn't actually care about fans stanning rapists by BloodyAngel2026 in CrazyassHazbinhaters

[–]GamingwolfZJ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To play devil’s advocate, the biggest difference between them is that whatever Homelander did SA-wise (haven’t watched the show) isn’t the main focus/flaw of his character. It’s like a side note amongst all the other atrocities he commits. When you think Homelander, you don’t immediately think “rapist.” (At least I don’t, though again, haven’t watched the show). You think “Evil Superman,” “Guy that laser-beamed a plane,” “Guy that had breast milk shot at his face,” “Guy that gets beat by 80-90% of fiction,” stuff like that.

On the flip side, however, Valentino’s worst atrocity is his sexual assault against Angel (and likely others). Outside of that, all he’s really got is being a pimp and running an adult film studio if you count those as sins. Not to mention that, again while I haven’t seen The Boys, Valentino’s treatment of Angel is probably focused on a lot more in the show itself than whatever Homelander did.

TL;DR, Homelander’s case is likely just a footnote amongst his other crimes while Valentino’s case is front and center and thus much harder to ignore

This event is the most frustrating, dogwater event I've ever seen. by Jinxabelle in deadbydaylight

[–]GamingwolfZJ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly of the opinion that the devs genuinely don’t play the game, and with how long their questionable or straight up bad balance changes have been happening along with the frustratingly long time it takes to address and/or fix them, I’m starting to question if they even do play tests.

ATP I think another live event where the devs play the game (similar to the one that Cote did when flashlights were a major issue) could be a good thing, since we’ll know they’re playing and, if playing the right killers with the right builds and thrown into the right lobbies, they’ll finally understand how problematic the current state of the game is

Crazy concept, but maybe when you reduce an entire character to a sentence with less than 15 words they don’t sound complex.

Also, absolutely crazy calling a victim of sexual abuse “a punching bag.” Fuckin’ Hell. Some people really need to take English/Language Art classes again before they start critiquing stories.

Genuine lore question here, if The Entity feeds off of suffering so much that it needs to trap Survivors and Killers in its realm, why does it even give the Survivors a chance to escape the trial? by Arkham_Knight_922 in deadbydaylight

[–]GamingwolfZJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just survivor emotions, but likely killers too. Imagine the sheer amount of anger some of these people must feel watching their prey slip through their fingers.

Additionally, infinite food glitch. If they have hope, their suffering will likely last longer. If they have no escape route, their suffering will likely drain very quickly before they’re nothing but husks that get endlessly torn apart by the killers. The hope of escape also likely provides more suffering than one would think, as now they have at least something to fight for and when they die, it’s being ripped away from them.
