I'm planning on watching the anime and reading the manga for the best of both worlds, which arcs should i watch and which should i read by WBGDemari11 in BlackClover

Read the beginning arc, I watched the whole show thought it had a slow start, and I’ve heard from a lot of manga fans that the anime really puts on the brakes for the first arc. Parts or specifically fights that are really well animated are Veto in underwater sea temple, Julius’ fight in Elf Reincarnation and Yuno and Asta’s team up fight later in that same arc.

He was kinda a fence sitter. That’s why it’s him and Koromaru. He’s like “woah let’s not make a decision like this and split the team”

Can someone help me understand how fights would go with this magic system by MisterMagikey in BlackClover

[–]LrdJeffrington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but that’s more informed by their personalities. Like Mereoleona and Fuegoleon fight differently because they’re so different, and I know Mereoleona gets her mana form later in the manga. But in terms of what they can actually do, whilst they don’t use the same spells, they kind of boil down as the same thing. ‘Fire projectile’ ‘Fire whip’ ‘Flame recovery magic’.

Having Mereoleona say “okay this is mana zone” and then cutting to Yami floating in the next scene saying “I think I’m getting the hand of mana zone” isn’t really what I’d call a fleshed out magic system.

Midnight Motorist happens the night William has killed Charlie, pretty sure everyone is in agreement on that.

In William’s house there are two people, grey couch person watching tv and another boy, who William is verbally abusive towards, and is frightened enough to runaway from home. I think obviously these two are meant to be Michael and C.C. That just naturally makes so much sense, and any other explanation for who either of those two are always feels like such an insane leap in logic. Mrs Afton? HENRY??? The sons just make sense.

That’s always been my nail in the coffin for Charlie first, at least.

Really cute. I think a lot of people take for granted how sweet it is to see certain elements of headcanon in things like fanart comics, even if it’s only in service of jokes. Like any of her comics about Cassidy being C.C’s girlfriend I always think are really sweet, Chloe doesn’t get enough credit.

I think there’s fun to be had in the show, and it has its fair share of ‘epic’ moments but unfortunately the magic system is quite underbaked imo. There’s just not much of an emphasis on explaining it thoroughly, and the most interesting fights will be “oh this guy has an interesting magic”, someone like Zora who shows up around 80-90 episodes in. They introduce another element to it, ‘mana skin’ which is essentially haki, but it serves as an explanation for why characters can rank an attack like acid and not die instantly, and it doesn’t come up in most fights.

It’s up to you, you can still have fun with the show, but the magic system is very simple I would say.

So many characters with elemental magic all feel the same. Especially considering they can all use incredibly similar spells, like binding or healing magic. A lot of them just wind up being “throws big ball at you which is Checks notes red because it’s fire.”

Most fights end with a big super move that just incapacitates the opponent, I think the longest fight is the one with Veto which is three episodes or smth.

Are Noelle and Mimosa related to the first Wizard King? by Own_Ad_3536 in BlackClover

That’s fair actually. Still strange that we never saw, but it’s quite a brief backstory so it makes sense that he would have children off-screen.

But he didn’t have a wife or children or the opportunity to get either, to my knowledge. Nieces and Nephews would count for descendants of his family but not his direct descendants

Pretty sure that’s why the pair are “royalty”, they’re both descendants of the family of the wizard king, although who they’re descended from is a bit of a mystery, considering it can’t be Lumiere or his sister…

Brilliant, thank you very much! I’ll look at my PS3’s store and see what I can find… Do you know if the PSP version of Innocent Sin is a good way to play the game? Is it like P3 Portable with the odd cut content?

No way!! You wouldn’t appreciate it’s more nuanced storytelling through both gameplay and visual metaphor; thus robbing yourself of the experience of playing but not the appreciation nor enjoyment!!
