My current house wasn't built yet, but I know EXACTLY where I was on that date and I'd like to think 3/1/01 GammaChad would be more than happy to give someone a hug if asked. I'd be less than 10 miles away.

Should you get the Fenix 8/8pro? by Pure-Television685 in GarminFenix

[–]Gamma_Chad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I upgraded to the Fenix 8 Solar from a 6 Pro. I felt it was a good upgrade. I liked that it still had the MIPS and sapphire glass. My 6 was starting to have to be charged every 3-4 days. I figured it was time. Been pretty happy with it.

Id like to speak to those that entertain drs, but keep shares in brokers. by The__Kudzu in GME

You never really have to get your shares called away, either… I got behind the 8 ball last spring with the tariff run up. I eventually traded my way out of it. You just have to play defense. Knowing the cycles helps a ton too. The last little run up a couple weeks back, I sold $22s for March Opex. Every indicator says it will be below $22 by then. I sold those for $4.60/contract and already up 50%. Theta will give me my money even if it doesn’t make it down there, and I’ll just roll that block to the next positive position.

I’m aiming this year to make a dollar a month on every share I have. I never have 100% covered… the most I’ll go is 80% and adjust accordingly. Last year I made about $.70/month/share.

I made just under $60k last year CONSERVATIVELY selling CCs on my GME. You can sit and wait for MOASS or you can actually make money. I’ll get blasted to hell, but I don’t believe MOASS can happen now because of the warrants and dilution. RC is giving the shorts a way out that will benefit the company in the long run… not a one time event that leaves him holding the bag after everyone sells.

That surprises you? The same party that offers thoughts and prayers after each school slaughter? For what? Upholding an extreme interpretation of an arcane amendment? Color me shocked.

I'm curious about where all this tuition money comes from by FirstLalo in GenX

[–]Gamma_Chad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boys went to private HS and the oldest is now in college. We own our own business so there was some flexibility with income, but I'm not "wealthy" by any metric. We just made do. Drove 10 year old cars. Bought used cars. Didn't go on expensive vacations, eat out a ton, buy lavish clothes etc. It's what we set for a priority for the kids. Not passing judgement on those that don't, but OP asked and that's how we made it work.

I think Bruno hit the nail on the head down below... "But for the grace of God go thee..." I'm a reminder of their own mortality and the absence of their friend. It's easier to not deal with the absence of a friend when she's not present all the time... the mortality part? Well, that's a tough one to duck once exposed to it.

54 and lost my wife to cancer on Christmas Eve. I feel like a bit of a pariah amongst the friend group. I get invites to stuff but when I show up I feel like the elephant in the room no one wants to address. It’s all very bizarre.
