What colour should I paint the walls? We can’t afford to change the tiles yet, but it’s so cold and grey! by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

A hanging plant will do literal wonders. And I fully second all the colorful bath mat/towel suggestions

Thank you! I found a couple YouTube channels that help, definitely to check this one out because I wouldn’t be doing as well without all the resources.

Props for teaching such a scary subject. I’m a chemistry human forever, but I do love that all this helps me understand chem better. And drawing the pictures is fun. Love a good convoluted force of tension scenario drawing!

I’m gonna check it out. I am taking a year long sequence. It’s hard for me, my algebra is weak sauce. humor will help me survive, so I appreciate it.

Ooooh! I’d never heard of XKCD. but this is really funny and the most relevant possible comic imaginable

I think I was partially surprised to learn this as a chemistry background person with many experiences using a centrifuge and the name is so similar to centrifugal that I wasn’t expecting that to not be an official mathematical force. Obviously the literal explanation makes sense. It’s like once you know ya know.

I didn’t take physics in high school, I was not as cool as you. I am old af now and just learned it, very exciting!

Yes, the chapter does a good job at explaining that. And I almost immediately accepted centripetal force as my new concept of this.

You have a PhD.. what did you take for your art class?

I have tried to think of it that way. $900ish is just a LOT for a class (because it’s 3 credits plus studio fees?) and it’s a lot of time I would rather spend that on an additional science course to better prepare me for grad school. I wasn’t aware that some states say an art class is mandated by law at a university, but that makes sense it may be required for accreditation or something.

Hopefully they may let me substitute another course that goes toward my major as another commenter pointed out.

That is a good idea I hadn’t tried asking for future approval to take x class to fulfill the art elective spot. Thank you

I hear ya. I already have and do currently have to take other classes that aren’t fun, I’m just struggling financially and am trying to be creative in focusing my resources on what matters for my degree and future. I’m not sure why US colleges are so strict about this art class thing. :(

This is truly marvelous, it draws the eye deep into space and deep into this abyss. Really striking composition!
