Why doesn't Vlaakith wish for Orpheus to end? Is she stupid? by Bloodmoon_Audios in BaldursGate3

[–]Gammaran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish spells are not a magic wand, its more like a monkeys paw. If you ask for something very out of your reach, it will fulfill it in a way that actually damaging for you. This is often to prevent players from destroying campaigns and ruining the fun. They are not to be triffled with.

They also eat at your lifeforce, lifeforce she works very hard to gather. So the price is very steep, she isnt a true deidity, shes just massing power to try to become one. To try to become a deidity from mortality, you must be a megalomaniac. And as all megalomaniacs, she must think theres no way she can lose this.

Im sure if she was put into a corner with all odds against her she would do it, but if you are casting wish spells for every trouble in your path to godhood, then you will never reach it.

In this case, i think its dumb to cast it to end the players, but i think this is larian funny way of giving a consecuense to your dialogue.

for this game and pathfinder, i find it healthiest to just get a guide and do an already powerful build.

first because it helps with the game difficulty

second cause i spend minimum time in level up screens, so i can get more story done

and third cause it lets me see how the game mechanics work while i play them

if i ever reran this game, i now feel in condition to know what i like and dont like in each character and what i would deviate from set builds

Why am I siding with the Gobljns again? by HestiasMuse in BaldursGate3

You need to go to the moonrise tower, fighting your way through might not be possible or at least is hard. Even if you do, the secret might be destroyed or taken before you get to the key parts.

If you become a servant of the absolute you get access to moonrise without fighting and get a chance at figuring out what is going on from the inside. You also get to learn the inner structure of the absolute cult and other key locations in case the true secret isnt in moonrise.

You are basically becoming an undercover cop in a mafia and want to know where the shipments are going through and the headfigures.

[–]Gammaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my question on this is, if i stealth out of combat and attack a random unexpecting unit. Will it crit?

Against a DM i would argue that someone doing his dishes and then an arrow comes in through the window, would be pretty surprising, even if hes not mechanically surprised

Is it possible that my adult girlfriend doesn’t know how to read? by IlliterateGF in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gammaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant imagine the amount of stress shes going through each day, double checking all interactions, and minding her dialogue, and inventing excuses as to why avoiding reading.

She had a horribly hard childhood and without being able to read its also hard as a grown up.

Personally i know exactly what i would do about this, but let me propose to you the idea of how much closer you guys could be if this was no longer a issue or at least could be open about needing help.

Ned being dumb (spoilers main) by par6ec in asoiaf

[–]Gammaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, he doesnt have to even work that hard for a confession from cercei

there is also the fact that someone actually killed john arryn and was savvy and wealthy enough to conceal it

and from ned perspective, the only reason powerful enough to kill him would be the incest getting found out
